Internet Archive remains offline for now

The "Wayback Machine" is currently still inaccessible. According to its founder, this is intentional as they continue rebuilding and the process will take some more time.
After a cyberattack on the "memory of the internet," the Internet Archive remains offline by choice, not due to any malfunction. According to the platform's founder, Brewster Kahle, the services are offline for investigation and strengthening. The archived data is reportedly safe, which is significant given that the breach resulted in the theft of around 30 Mio. hashed user passwords. There were concerns that archive content might have been altered.
Shortly after the attack, a DDoS attack further disrupted the platform, preventing users from resetting passwords immediately. The breach, strange error messages, and the DDoS attack seem unrelated, according to earlier reports.
