hey! I help out with @lucksacks poker. I think the 'investing' implications are that you can earn/win HIVE with no investment on your end... the site does NOT take deposits. You can donate for Tickets to get into bigger/different games but you are gifted a few when you first sign up, to get you started. MANY HIVE-ians have earned major HIVE playing. The site is currently getting an overhaul of sorts, so games are not running 24/7 as they normally have but I expect that to change. Let me know if you have any more questions, and/or join our beginners server here:

Hive is undergoing many changes in many ways, so it makes sense that it would be offline periodically.
I'm not expecting Hive to be Number One for casino gambling-- that's still Bitcoin-- but it would be nice to attract various kinds of players (D&D, gambling, sports, sims, trivia, family-friendly, puzzles, etc.)

D&D on Hive? Now that's more up my alley! It could be interesting

Isn't Splinterlands based on D&D? Or is it an imitation of Magick: The Gathering?

I haven't played enough Splinterlands to verify if it's based on D&D but I can already tell it's different from Magic The Gathering in most aspects.
It has some similar elements, but then again, most card games do because MTG is the most successful and the grandfather of them all, but the core mechanics of Splinterlands are quite different!

When I mentioned D&D, I only meant that fantasy roleplaying games were one type of game on Hive blockchain.
