Executive Order On Crypto I Think We Know
Executive orders feel like a way for a president to try and throw around power. To be clear I also find them highly abused and used for means they are not meant for. In a way it pretty much delcares them as a dictator and should seriously be looked at in ALL cases. For some reason they feel one person knows better than the vast majority of people. While that might be the case a few times it's often not.
To think governments didn't play a hand in instigating Russia to attack I feel is dumbfounded. Do I support the war? Hell no, I never support a war and it needs to end now and go back to talks. You should be mad at ALL leaders not just one for allowing such a thing to even take shape. There's a lot happening in the background you need to look into as there's always two sides of a story.
In any case we don't know any details about what this executive order is going to be from the president. Just that one is coming down the pipeline this week. But from what I've been seeing as of late it feels like they are going to push their agenda because of this war. Which is totally BS and I don't support that at all. However a vast majority of people sadly wont understand that CRYPTO was one of the last few things that could restore your right to privacy and restore at least some freedoms back to people.
What we are seeing are many exchanges over the last 24 hours change tune. Such as Coinbase refusing to block Russian IP addresses to now today blocking them. I don't find this effective at all. You're now punishing ALL people in Russia and pretty much destroying their lives even though there are many speaking up and against the war which is actully HUGE as these people that get locked up from doing so literally destroy their lives and business and reputation in Russia. It's not like here in the USA where you can speak out and you're find something people CLEARLY take for granted anymore. That speaks volumes to people within Russia speaking up and letting their voices be heard.
So what's to come?
This executive order to me feels like it's going to hold all Exchanges accountable. That means all exchanges in the USA will have to block IP addresses if asked to do so. Fully report all transactions, more KYC and harsher penalty for those not doing so.
Important note: These actions can only be enforce in the USA when it goes live. That's the big benefit of crypto is it can be accessed anywhere in the world.
Besides that I don't see this executive order doing much of anything else. Crypto was invented to give governments like the USA to have less power over its people and restore those freedoms back. If I wanted to bet on anything right now it wouldn't be all these other crypto projects it would be the crypto blockchains that are privacy focuses.
The Most Important Reminder You ALL Should get from this is...
Not your keys, not your crypto.
I haven't used an exchange for years now and primarily focus on privacy oriented swaps and systems anymore. I also store all of my crypto in my OWN wallets. Before it was shit coins, then it was rug pulls on defi, then it was shit NFT projects. Now it's governments trying to enforce things they should have no right to enforce and this is where crypto needs to take a FIRM STANCE as people need to realize what a huge deal these new actions against crypto really are.
It's also been shown that Russia is not using crypto to try and bypass sanctions and if they are it's extremely minimal. The logical step for them is to simply funnel money through China and India. So all this talk about crypto is a total story to try and remove your rights.

As a Russian citizen, I don't see also those sanctions useful in stopping what politicians are doing. Russian citizens have nothing to do with that war. While they should pay for the mistakes of others. Those sanctions hurt only citizens, not the rulers. They already had enough money, and they will not care about the prices or some products not being available, because they have their own ways to buy anything they want. Now the prices are raising here, companies are living, websites aren't working, people hating Russians, as you said even exchanges blocking Russian ips. Of course politicians don't care that much about that, because they don't need to use crypto that much. Anyway, I'm used to living in this unfair world and nothing will change anyway. What's done is done, and they keep doing it, they even released Alisher Usmanov from sanctions!. Because he's dealing with them somehow. It's clear that this war is only against citizens from both countries. And even citizens from other world are being hurt by the prices. The gas is so expensive in Europe for example. And also they involved crypto in all this politics. That's could hurt crypto very much, because it's not clear where that money will go.
It's unfortunate you have to pay the price as well. While I'm sure there will be some short sighted and narrow minded and simply say Russia bad! I don't believe that for a moment. A few bad actors do not reflect an entire population and that's a common mistake humans continue to make by grouping people into such categories. I of course would encourage you to take action as much as you can just as I am and countless others to stand up and do something no matter how small you might feel it is. The small actions of many are what enact change.
Information is a powerful thing and right now the right to that information is being trampled over.
In the country I'm not able to change anything. Any kind of intervention will only hurt me or my family. But on decentralized social media where I have people following me, I'm sharing my truth, so people will be aware. First of all, not only one side is involved, but both are guilty. They are fighting for a strategic place and blaming each other to not let people think that they work together. Because I don't see any of them getting hurt, only citizens of both countries. Oh I totally agree both are at fault. The entire unprovoked war is so dumb because the USA and Nato have been provoking it for a while now. That's not to say Russia hasn't been either. Both are at fault. Decartelized media is a VERY powerful thing.

We are seeing gas go up 0.10-0.30 cents a day here in Canada the last 5 days. This may be part of a bigger plan and at this point we can't trust any "leaders"

There "is" something "Huge" here, and although "I" feel that currently the Ukraine is fighting for ALL of us,
It is bigger than that,
It might be that "unknowingly for most", right now we are all already at war.
There is no one in the western world this is not touching, no one.
It is making all prices higher, it's bouncing the crypto market like a basketball that never gets to the hoop, we are watching death daily at a dose on the emotional level that is hard to take, it goes on and on...
But...
This Crypto thing "Can" unite the people of the world, beyond their governments, and that might be the big fear all around..

They say when two elephants are fighting, it’s the grass that will suffer. This is exact how we are having it now, people are suffering for the bullshit of the governments.
I love that somehow crypto is ahead of their tactics to hold it down, it must really be a pain in their butt to have an alternative monetary system that has grown so much.

Crypto needs to stay further and further ahead as the pressures are only growing. The sick, twisted narrative of a few are manipulating the hell out of people right now. They need to wake up because the time to act is getting smaller by the day.
But unfortunately people are getting dumber by the day. It’s shocking that more people like to be controlled than not.

I don't think dumber they simply don't do their own research and are headline readers. They also for whatever reason just yell at each other all day on twitter about nothing it's so dumb I can't even spend time on Twitter anymore lol I feel like it's gotten more toxic over the years.
I am at this same point, I don't think ANY war needs to happen that includes this one or the one the USA started in the middle east or the ones in the middle east.
I think the USA, UK, Canada or "greater 7" Have way more to do with this new war than anyone else.
These orders are a power grab 100%, see this in Canada and it is part of this "Great Reset" we are dealing with and the west is using this war as an even bigger power grab
