Is Hive Primed For Success In The Next Bull Run?
As much as I would love to say yes hive is ready it's clear it is not if the bull market kicks in here within the next 6 months. Sure we would see onboarding and price hikes across the board but in terms of applications and keeping people using the blockchain it's not looking good.
Video
Video is now a huge factor when it comes to anything content creation. However 3speak still lacks much of it's decentralized infrastructure. While I'm sure the team is hard at work much of the front end changes have happened.
The UI still the same UI it's had for years. There are many aspect nodes that are still missing to the platform and there's more critically not a separate shorts application or a area for shorts to be shown on the UI. These core things are something that will need to be in place otherwise 3speak is just going to find itself in the same place as the likes of rumble or dtube where there's no real traffic, algo, shorts or anything people actully want to us and because of that it's an after thought.
I know some people might give me hate on it but lets be real its been years now and tons of funding and as far as the every day user can see nothing has really changed on the platform. These things need to start coming into place now so they are ready, tested and optimized for mass adoption and it's clear we are not there yet and what seems like we are far from.
There is growing demand and even a increase of decentralized and centralized applications to replace or at least offer up compeditive edges to twitter. Leo Finance and project blank I feel has a clear goal and one that merits value and very well could take off by niching it more towards the crypto twitter which is a rather decent user base.
The issue is I still don't have access to the new UI and it's been 3 weeks since it went into small testing. At some point here they need to stick it and get it launched as I hate to say it but LEO and the team has a very bad track record of saying something and then it being months or years later before we see it.
Gaming
Gaming is one area that could see massive success and it's the single area I feel is the closest to being ready once again on hive. The last bull run fueled hive through the number one played crypto game Splinterlands. This time around it looks like we will have a few new games. LVL which should be coming soon. MuTerra launches today! and a few other smaller edge case games are being worked on that could turn into something big. This shows the gaming side of hive is still strong and growing.
Is Hive Ready?
In most cases it's not and I don't write this post to put down hive and the development that has been happening. Instead it's a call to rally and get these things done and ready for the mass adoption of web3, gaming and social and hive yes HIVE has a solid chance of coming out far ahead of the competition if we get things moving.
What are you thoughts and what areas would you like to see developed on hive that you feel are critical to mass adoption of the token and ecosystem?

Hive's major problem is getting noticed. I think we are pretty set when it comes to the tools for development. We definitely have substantial value to offer now than we've ever had
Applications are what will get Hive noticed. For the most part many people are not even going to know what hive is and it will be more of a resource backend.
Personally, I'm worried about Hive-Engine right now. It seems there is an outage of some sort almost daily for the last month. It may not be the case, but it feels like it, which is really what matters. Perception is reality. I have zero knowledge of how any of this works but if LEO does take off with it's updated "Twitter" UI, there could be a shitload of people confused and pissed off if they all of a sudden can't vote or get their tokens or deposit HIVE, etc.
We keep talking about the building going on, and it's been extraordinary. Really. But if something goes viral, which is what we want, we can't afford to get run over or we'll be right back talking about "in 5 years"....

I agree with you on most of your points, and I agree that the existing apps could use some work.
I believe, however, that the launch of GLX and WOO games can bring in a nice chunk of new players to Hive.

I think that beyond app development, which I think is also an important issue, HIVE needs more promotion as a platform and as a cryptocurrency, so that it is in a better position for the next Bull Run. For this reason, I strive daily to try to attract new people to the platform and explain to them what it all consists of; It's not an easy task, but it will pay off in the long run.

I think that promotion comes naturally from people discovering hive from applications. Trust me they spent 100,000 dollars in the last bull run to market hive and it did nothing lol
I feel your on the money , I have been on this blockchain for just under a year. Altho I don't blog I do comment. I belong to CTP. The last few weeks the talk is onboarding. Does Hive have what it takes to keep ppl here. I don't think so . You need influence and worth to keep this blockchain together. Yes there are project out there like Threads and Veews that are new and are known to most everyone. But does it attract enough attention to attract ppl. Some of the frontends don't care either way. Everyone is bickering over price and forget about the community. If the community isn't there your wasting your time. Bickering over price will kill any chances of surviving. Pictures are worth a 1000 words but showing a picture on Liketu without a mobile app for those living on their phone doesn't work. In this day and age apps have to be mobile friendly. For Hive to succeed the devs have to step up their game and bring something to the table ppl can bite there teeth into or else Hive will go the way of the Legacy chain. That is my 2 cents.
