You Asked For It But Did We Really Want It?

For years I heard whispers and wishes for institutional investing to come to bitcoin. Those hopes and dreams of turning your few bitcoin into riches!

Well that day has come! But was it really something we wanted?

Bitcoin was founded to replace corporations. To eliminate the bottle necks and middle men controlling everything. Well institutional investing means just that. The big boys and girls are stepping in and making massive buys which is eating up all of the bitcoin.

Three years ago all corporations and banks did was talk trash about crypto and bitcoin.

Now today we have headlines like this...

Now this doesn't have to be a bad thing. Many of us got in early but still only hold a small fraction of all the bitcoin out there. If we sold today we most likely would retire and live happy. However for us we have a grander vision and while we might sell off some to live that relaxed lifestyle many are HODL and wanting to build.

This building is happening on other blockchains outside of Bitcoin. I see this being the next big wave and what many are calling Web 3.0. A true fully decartelized system for finances, trading, social media and more!

It's almost like reinventing the internet all over again and while it may night be over night 10-20 years from now we will be sitting on top of a true better decentralized system. This also leads me to believe that Bitcoin itself will die and fizzle out 10 years down the road.

Another halving will have taken place, fees would be huge for transactions and still it would be a dinosaur slowly moving along. However all of that capital within it will instead be moved into new innovative blockchains that have more capabilities, faster and better processing and much much more. In fact DeFi itself wasn't born until August of 2018 and only recently has started to really catch on. It's still a baby in terms of what the possibilities are.

BTW If you're not already in it GET YOUR BUTTS OVER TO CUBDeFi and pick yourself up a few for the long haul. At roughly $2 a pop it's a heck of an easy investment for long train gains in my opinion.

With that being said we do hold one advantage as individuals over corporations and that's the ability to act on new things dealing with Finances faster than them. Just like we got into bit coin 10 years before they started to we now have the upper hand on these alt coins and decentralized social media sites.

This is now where our focus and power is shifting and the driving up in bitcoin and Ethereum prices are helping to fuel these new platforms in there year 1 or 2 stages.

Personally, I don't think Bitcoin is going to fizzle out and die because of the way institutions think of it. For them, paying $50 to move hundreds of millions is nothing. Plus the 2nd layer solutions are coming so those transaction fees will soon be a thing of the past (hopefully).

However, like you say, those like us on Leo/Hive can get involved in other projects and can make a headstart before the big money comes in as we're a bit more agile and don't have to go through as many legal hoops to put crypto on our balance sheets.

It's exciting stuff in any case!

Not any time soon it wont but I feel once the next halving takes place and even better and more powerful blockchains are created that a large sum of the capital in bitcoin will move to these other blockchains instead. We just aren't there yet and it's going to take a while.

Full agree on that 2nd part about LEO and Hive. Hive's marketcap is crazy small only a little over 200 million that's a seriously small piece of the 1.65 Trillion dollars. It wouldn't take much for someone to jump into Hive and buy out a good share of it. Seriously there is huge potential here and a huge amount of growth to still be done on this platform.

Perhaps it will move but also BTC miners will look to more profitable and greener/renewable energy sources though as these big companies and institutions are pretty much buying every BTC that a certain mining farm is minting. It's an interesting race to watch!

There's certainly a lot of room to move now I feel we've been through the worst of it on HIVE - most of the big accounts that powered down and left have gone now and there's a lot on the exchanges now waiting to be gobbled up! Again, very interesting one to watch and be a part of!

We have waited so long and I think it is time to harvest the fruits of patience
Now Bitcoin and Crypto have become a reality. We have come a long way with learning and knowledge, not just investing
Lots of people will enter the world of crypto, but we are overtaking them with science
Well we are the ones at the helm

That's a great point man...The power of holding bitcoin and other powerful crypto assets have been swapped from retail to institution.

All these price movements, I really believe this, is to get us (the retail investor) to dump...So they can swoop in and buy on the low.

I hate the game LOLOL

Hate the players, not the game 😁

That's a very good point. Instituional investors are required by legislators to check and double check certain business models before they are allowed to invest in them. We as individuals don't have these restraints. We gamble with our money and that's why we can enjoy the innovation before anybody else. The only condition is to be willing to look constantly into new things and take some measured risks.

With those risks comes failures but also some of the biggest wins ever. To me it's worth the risk but I never invest more than I can afford to lose.

Great outlook @bitcoinflood. We have seen big corporates & serial entrepreneurs who have criticized Bitcoin & Crypto in the past, are now changing their stance. They are even putting their good chunk of investment portfolio in Crypto. You are absolutely right that we have an "Early Mover" advantage. We must sit on our tokens and HODL them for a decent long term to see immense returns.

Money talks, Look at how fast they jumped on to launching their own NFT after talking trash for the last 10 years. Speaks volumes on the type of people they are.

True. They are the Fake Visionaries & part of the traditional hoard.
