I disagree…
Under King Ezana of Aksum, Ethiopia adopted Christianity as the state religion around 330 CE.
This was before the formation of the Roman Catholic Church as its own entity from the unified (katholicos) Christian Church.
The Council of Nicaea (325 CE) was the 1st council to SEEK to “unify” Christianity under Constantine.
The institution of the Catholic Church evolved from the decree of the Council of Chalcedon (451 CE)
