In 2008, Elon Musk took over as CEO of Tesla, and under his leadership, the company began to expand its product line. In 2010, Tesla released the Model S, a luxury electric sedan that quickly gained popularity for its performance and range. The Model S was followed by the Model X, a luxury electric SUV, and later the Model 3, a more affordable electric sedan.
