NanoJClean which is the VeChain (VET) in China has been expanding on the traceability/ providence of products that is becoming more and more important to consumers. The pet industry is big business world wide worth a reported $250 billion per year with China surprisingly at around $40 billion per year. China has over 63 000 pet shops which is quite astounding with the cat topping the chart as the pet of choice. I was a bit surprised by all these figures as China is known for eating dog meat which is not something we would ever consider in the West.
Najing Zero blockchain has been providing a traceability solution for dog food brands much in the same way we are seeing with food and clothing. The pet food brands are storing the information for consumers on the blockchain so they can see the sources, transportation and storage in order to help promote their brands and image.
I can understand this being a problem as the et food industry has not had the best name due to bad actors in the past. I can recall one brand where dogs were losing weight due to there being no nutritional value in the dog food and it was eventually tested and removed from the market. Buying the right dog food should help reduce vet bills as going cheap will ultimately cost you far more.
Another neat piece of kit they have introduced is a NFC tag which is basically the next stage of an RFID tag except this can use Bluetooth. This is an electronic identification card that details the owners details along with the pets medical history. This is also good when purchasing a pet as it gives the breed line showing its pedigree whether it is pure or not. We know how unethical this business is and possibly this can help clear this up once and for all.
In China they have tens of millions of stray animals and the hope is one day this will be alleviated with the adoption of this technology reducing those being abandoned. It doesn't make sense how big the pet industry is in China which shows they care yet they have so many strays. I think in the West these types of numbers are hard to comprehend as it would be hard to ignore a stray walking the streets.
VET or VeChain is definitely targeting all industries with the traceability technology by using their blockchain. Consumers are going to be a driving factor in this forcing manufacturers and suppliers to insist the information is on their products. Transparency is what people want to see as every item will be scrutinized due to lack of trust. This is the one way manufacturers can gain back the trust by supplying all the information required to settle any doubts.
Just last week we had the news that certain no sugar drinks were using a cancer inducing sweetener and our house has already stopped buying them. This is going to happen frequently as consumers are asking questions and there will be nowhere to hide even with pet food which we all know is not fit for human consumption. Nothing is cheap today even with pet food which is more expensive than buying real food per kg which is another mind bender showing how much profit is being made.

interesting cover! would love to learn more about it as I do think that pet industry do require more attention when it comes to the security and integrity of the products.
Most definitely the pet industry needs more security and integrity than many other industries as it has been open to abuse. Just thinking about dog food was made up of food waste unfit for human use yet it is more expensive than fresh chicken per kilogram. We cook our own top up food to be added to the dog biscuits as I don't trust the nutrient facts on the packaging.
that's saddening to see as the trust level for a manufacturer is still yet to the standard whereby consumer will trust on it. Would it be possible for blockchain to solve this as it would somehow capture the value of what are the added nutrients, cross verified by different parties and record in the chain?
That is an interesting point of view that you present in your post.
By way of sharing it on leo threads you can increase its exposure

The way we all love our animals so much, especially our dogs, and the way you've said things about their industry is going to work out. And how much money people spend on them every year we can't even imagine because they love them so much they take care of them so much especially their food and drink and all their needs.
