Welcome to Saturday Savers Club for 2025!
Saturday Savers Club is for anyone who wants to save in any currency for any purpose. The Club is a supportive group of people who meet up around the weekly post, usually on a Saturday but occasionally on a Sunday, to share tips and techniques and have fun in the process.
Saving is a skill that takes time and practice to acquire and, like learning any skill, doesn't always go the way you planned. Saturday Savers Club provides a framework that you can use to help you on your way, plus tips to support the skills you need to design and manage your own savings plan.
Here's what happened in the first year of Saturday Savers Club.
How To Join
Saturday Savers Club is very informal and friendly - we work together to support each other. There are no leader boards or competition, it's about each person finding the best way to save to reach their goals.
We all have different circumstances, opportunities and challenges. Everyone is welcome, whether they are saving .01 HIVE every week or whether they are on their way to 100,000 HIVE.
All you have to do to join is comment each week:
- when you are ready, leave your primary and, if you have one, secondary savings goals in a comment on the weekly post.
- let us know how you are getting on in a comment each week.
- check out other savers and support them with a comment.
That's it!
The Savers Chart
Once you have told us your primary and secondary savings goals, they are added to the Savers Chart in the weekly post. This brings extra benefits:
- you become eligible for the draw for two EDSI each week.
- you can take part in the Prize Draw and other challenges.
- you can be sponsored with HSBI.
Most importantly, the Savers Chart is about your commitment to saving: it helps you to be accountable and gives you a gentle reminder about your savings each week in your notifications.
Let us know in the comments when you have reached one of your savings goals - we'll put an emoji to show your achievement. You can check last year's Savers Chart in this post. The results:
- 59% Savers participated regularly in the Club.
- 44% Savers reached one or more Savings goals.
- 51% Savers who participated regularly achieved one or more goals.
Using the Penny a Day Savings Challenge
It's good to have a framework when you start saving and we're going to use the Penny A Day Challenge. This starts nice and easy, so slow you don't even notice, just day 1, put aside one penny (0.01), day 2 put aside two pennies (0.02), until week 50 when you end up with 60,035 pennies or 600.30 USD or GBP (or HIVE or HBD).
You can do the Penny A Day Challenge with any unit of currency - pennies, cents, hive, bitcoin - whatever you have lying around and you can easily get your hands on. You can keep physical pennies in a jar, or save them in an account, maybe in a credit union, or save digital pennies in your hive wallet.
At the end of the post is a chart you can use to track your progress. Just copy and save to your device. You can join the Club and start saving at any time of the year.
The Saturday Savers Club is going to use the weekly chart in the Resources section below. Each week, the equivalent amount is going to be put aside in the Hive savings wallet in the @susie-saver account and recorded in the weekly Saturday Savers Club post. This year we are going to be saving HIVE (day 1 = 0.01 HIVE, day 2 = 0.02 HIVE etc) to grow the account to Minnow status.
You don't have to follow the Saturday Savers Club framework. Just choose the plan that is right for you.

One of the biggest things that makes a difference to saving successfully is having a savings goal - for Saturday Savers Club, that's something you want to achieve by the end of 2025.

Reasons to Save - Some Savings Goals
- Become a Hive Minnow
- Build an Emergency Fund
- Clear Debt
- Pay for Christmas (or other celebrations)
- Have a Crypto portfolio or become a HIVE business owner
This year, the Saturday Savers Club will be saving HIVE to become a Hive Minnow by the end of the year. If you're a new or small account, save along with us and become a Minnow (or maybe you want to become a Dolphin or an Orca)?
What's the goal for your savings?
2025 500HP Prize Draw
This year the Saturday Savers Club is offering two opportunities to win 500 HP in a prize draw.
To be eligible for the draw, you must:
- leave a comment on this post with your primary and secondary (if you have one) savings goals for the year.
- in the same comment, post a snapshot from hivestats.io of your HIVE and HP and total HP author and curation rewards by the deadline: 18:00 UTC on 31 January 2025 (Here's an example).
- actively participate in the Club by commenting at least 40 weeks of the Savings year (80% participation).
- post a comment with a snapshot of your results on the week 50 Saturday Savers Club post by 18:00 UTC on Friday 19 December 2025. (There will be a reminder nearer the time).
Class 1 Accounts with less than 6,000 HP in January 2025:
- save at least 600 HP author and curation rewards by 19 December.
Class 2 Accounts with 6,001 HP or more in January 2025:
- save at least 3,000 HP author and curation rewards by 19 December 2025.
Disclaimers:
- Any account that powers down during January to bring their account under 6,000 HP will be disqualified from the Prize Draw.
- Any account with less than 6,001 HP which has earned sufficient HIVE through author and curation rewards over all time to take them over the 6,000 HP threshold will only be eligible for inclusion in Class 2.
- Only HP earned through author and curation awards in the savings period will be eligible for the prize draw.
Eligible accounts on Friday 19 December 2025 will be entered into a random draw using the Wheel of Names. The winning accounts will be published on Saturday 20 December 2025. There will be one prize in each class. Prizes will be transferred on Thursday 1 January 2026.

Every year in December, members of the Club submit nominations and vote for Saver of the Year with prizes! Watch out for the invitation to submit nominations at the beginning of December.
Housekeeping
Some rules to keep us all safe and make life easy:
- Please do not reblog or share Saver posts without the author's consent.
- Please do not use tipping bots (eg LUV, BEER, INDEEDLY, BBH, LOLS etc) in the comments on Saturday Saver Club posts. Having a comments section full of of tipping notications slows down the Club's record keeping and puts off people who are looking for information and useful links shared by Savers.

10k is great to achieve and I found once you hit 10k then 11k was alot quicker to get to than 10 was, however if the price of Hive stays up at the 50c range then it will be harder to stack HP compared to last year!
Great goals and I am tempted to put a DUO goal in mine as I have not really been looking at any Hive L2 tokens...
DUO is my favorite token, although I may be biased! You have 230 staked already, if you hit 500 you get the daily tip which is fun!
I've notice since I hit 5K things have been growing faster, I can only imagine what 10K will be like. The best part is I've done it all organically!

There's not many options available anywhere that give 15% interest so I'm making sure to take advantage of it. If it stays at 15% I should get 686 HBD interest over the year, but there's 200 accounts with more in savings than me. I was amazed to find myself #82 on author rewards for 2024 though!

I've got a laundry list for 2025. The largest goal is to double my Hive Power this year from 1,552 to 3,000.
I'm getting interested in a lot of community tokens and I believe I've set reasonable goals - I may adjust the goals if I am able to reach targets early.
Good luck Edwin, the first year I participated I had just joined Hive and had a spreadsheet of tokens that I updated weekly. It was fun.
As you do explore more communities it will be interesting seeing which tokens you start to prioritise.

My goals for 2025 are;
Primary: Add 3500.4 HP
Secondary: Add 620 HBD from earnings plus interest (i.e. excluding ones I just go and buy)

Yeah, I should have trimmed the 0.4 off. It's what comes when I work out the goal using a formula based on a mix of a desired target and a calculated increase on last year's earnings....

The only things that you are asked to do as a member of Saturday Savers Club is:
Making posts is optional and not part of the requirements of being a member. Some Savers like to do posts, though, either weekly or monthly or just when it is convenient. For other people, it doesn't really fit with what their blog is about (they may mainly write about travel or food) and it would be a bit strange to have saving posts in the middle 😂.

I agree with that, it’s achievable, but this year I want to take some profit. I have the 100% HP rewards for all my posts and I plan to change it to 50% HP/50% HBD in a few months. I've been feeling under the weather so haven't been able to get the specific numbers for my main savings goals for this year yet, but my main goals this year are:
~1440HP, so my votes are past the dust threshold.I didn't get around to writing about HPUD but I did participate in it! Trying to participate in PUM too but I think I've already messed up that streak... Anyway!

Goals for the year:
Primary is 10,000 HP or 3,500 HBD or a mix of both with Hive at 35 cents.
Secondary is 5k LEO

Primary saving goal : 5.000 HBD saving
Secondary saving Goal : 13.500 HP
Honestly, getting 3000 HP is not easy when HIVE is at this price, because it is similar as getting 150 HP per week in last year. without power up, this should be a hellish for most of us here LoL
I did not set a HP goal because I am not sure what the price will be. If it stays at >0.5 then yeah it will be much tougher collecting HP.

I completely agree with that, that's why I set lower to 13.500 because I know 15.000 will be like a hellish target to achieve LoL...

Getting 3000 HP is more or less the same as getting 6000-7500 HP in 2024

I had been pondering what my goals would be this year and finally had 2 targets set:
Main: 2.5k HBD Savings
Secondary: Recurring Buy of $2 worth of sats a day
Wrote them on my recent post so I would not change my mind, lol!

Last year I reached my secondary goal and missed my main goal by a few HP.
In 2025 my two goals are:
Main goal: 100K HP
Secondary goal: 150K SPS
I will also try to be more active in this challenge

I need to do a better job of visiting the post and posting updates each week, but here are my goals for 2025. My main goals are 18k HP and 3,900 HBD in my HBD savings.

2025 is the Year of SLOTH!
But, a good !SLOTH that brings lots of buzz, hopefully!
Here are my goals for the year: setting my targets high with 2,335 HP (10,000HP total) as my main goal and my secondary goal of 59 SLOTHBUZZ (200 Staked total) tokens.
I hope this also gets me entry into the year-end giveaway, although it's going to be a real challenge to earn 3000 HP worth of rewards over the year. I'm just too big for the lower tier class, but in the low end of the second class, giving myself a real slothly challenge!

Hoping for more buzz than sloth haha! So far so good this year, getting my hens in order so I'm hopeful for a better punt at things for 2025. Happy to be part of the savers club, already given me the motivation to interact with a lot more people/posts. Sloth steps, I'll try get all the savers buzzing too!
Don't forget the sloth buzz power up day on the 7th of each month, bring some extra buzz to Hive!

This year is gonna be a busy year as my second son was born on.. January 1st 😍
Which is lovely and might help not fall for fomo traps as 2021 was full of those. Luckily most of the stuff I got into that year is still going and last year I mostly built my hive, dbond and spi stacks plus dca into some more bitcoin. O and getting the crypto.com visa cashbacks which have slowly gained some significance over time.
So this year I'll need to take some gains and being busy with kids helps distract me from the day to day crypto drama and fud or fomo. First goal will be 8k HBD in savings providing 100 a month in interest (given the 15 percent holds up) not sure about the second one, probably need to sell a good chunk of btc, eth, sol and cro. But note sure how a negative goal would work hehe
Also looking forward to XV wrapping up in the near future, should be good!

XV I think is supposed to wrap up somewhere in April? If I remember correctly. Indeed the beginning felt slow and then boom it's there. But a lot can still happen over the coming months 🤞

Hello to all, saturday savers friends :-) It's great to be here once again, thanks @shanibeer for including me in the club. I really love it.
As I commented in one of my last posts, I'm still a bit behind trying to finish my 2024 savings, as for personal reasons I had to resort to them and in the middle of the year I had to start the whole saving challenge from scratch. But of course when I finish it I'll join the 2025 savings :D (now I'm just going for the November 23rd 2024 payment).
This time I'm going to save my money without a concrete target, but I hope to have at least 1600 HBD saved by December 2025. I like to have an emergency fund to use for any eventuality. My secondary goal will be to get at least 16,000 HP staked. This will be a real challenge because I regularly use my powerdown HP to cover daily expenses, but I will try. Also, this will allow me to participate in the 500 HP draw, which I think also makes it a good incentive 😃.

We will ask for a similar snapshot at the end of the savings period to show how many author and curation rewards you've earned during the savings period (we'll remind you nearer the time).
This image is from the Peakd wallet. You can use any wallet as long as the image includes your user name and the amount of Hive and Hive Power you have at the start of the savings period.
We will use both pieces of information to check your eligibility for Class 1 or Class 2 for the Prize Draw. A post showing who has qualified for entry for each class will be published Sunday 2 February 2025.
