I prefer AI because humans try to sell me things that I don't need in stores. If AI does the same, I'd move to store that does not do the same with me.

Or maybe that AI would learn that you don't like being pitched about more offers and it won't do it again. That would be so cool.

I doubt marketers and business people would want AI to have that conclusion.
I mean today many marketers know this already yet they continue to sell on our face.
That's true. They would want the AI to sell us more things. But this particular thing might make someone like you a long term customer.
Over marketing is also bad for business.

Marketing involves trial and error and adjustments. Different techniques are used to see what works, then those which work are chosen for continued use while those which didn't work get dropped as soon as possible.
In many ways, marketing is more scientific in its application than some things we usually think of as science.

Haha. That's true! Everything that involves numbers is science. I think there are numbers in everything.
I agree that marketing is a never-ending experiment and it keeps on changing as per the trends.

Marketing has been a science since as far back as the 1920s, with contributions from people on both the light side and the dark side. When insane amounts of money are on the line, the market testing can be ruthless. Mail order advertising is the most scientific of all forms of mass marketing since it squeezes the most money it can from small expenditures for testing.

You can do that initially, but ultimately they will all operate that way. At that point, I have no idea what to recommend or suggest.
