Costco limits quantity you can buy on certain items. It looks like the supply shortages are kicking up again and people are hoarding.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Supply chain shortages are now part of daily life. It won't get better any time soon, either. If those problems get sorted out before 2025 we will be fortunate.

Finally, a crypto news outlet saying it as it is.

It makes me mad how CoinDesk and the like just lap this shit up.

Check out these couple of Tweet threads from the journo too:

Hi crypto,

Have you heard of Hive.io?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Have you heard of Hive.io?

No what is that?

Something we should check into. Perhaps write a guide up for it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

haha yea that would be excellent

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

We already have a cool guide written on Hive.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

haha yea I know bro it was a joke!

It's a great guide thou

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I know it was a joke. Just wanted to link the guide. 😂

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm justing making this comment to link to the Guide for SafeMoon.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

LMAO. Safemoon brings visitors. So let's them tell the truth and call out a scam, A SCAM.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Obviously they have not. Maybe we need a Project Blank to come out? I don't think most Splinterlands users that got added know that they have a HIVE account either.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Heh I'm just glad I never bought in the hype

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

lol, I'm glad someone said it because that site also looks like shit IMO. It looks like some trash from 1995 windows 3.0 (for those of you old enough haha)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Lol that's true!
You'd think that 200M would buy you a decent frontend LOL

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Have you heard of Hive.io?

Bitclout is all fluff and no meat. Hive is the real deal.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

China Central Bank declares all crypto transactions illegal. Not looking good for BTC and other cryptos in China!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This time it's due to "intensive energy consumption"-- as if that ever stopped them from doing anything else before.

Uncertainty in legal status is just as bad (or even worse) than outright declarations of illegality. The end result is the same.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well they are adding in more coal power plants to supplement their energy usage but I think its just another way to get the digital yuan in circulation.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

China is all-in on Digital Yuan. It's rolling out its CBDC from test sites to the rest of the nation.

As for the additional coal plants, can China say it's using clean coal? I don't think so! Any talk of "fighting" climate change is useless until China contributes based on its abilities (as a good Communist country does). So we don't need to hear any more about this until 2030 when China is on the clock.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Again?

Oh no, RIP Bitcoin haha.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It seems like China bans crypto every other day.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I would probably say it's every month.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea it's not looking good. I saw a video earlier today that this might be one way to stop people from converting the yuan into other currencies and keep it circulating inside.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

McDonald’s is replacing human drive-thru attendants with AI.

The pilot project is in 10 stores and is 85% accurate.

Don't forget, AI is an important component of WEB 3.0. Soon we will see its implementations everywhere around us.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I prefer AI because humans try to sell me things that I don't need in stores. If AI does the same, I'd move to store that does not do the same with me.

Or maybe that AI would learn that you don't like being pitched about more offers and it won't do it again. That would be so cool.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I doubt marketers and business people would want AI to have that conclusion.
I mean today many marketers know this already yet they continue to sell on our face.

That's true. They would want the AI to sell us more things. But this particular thing might make someone like you a long term customer.

Over marketing is also bad for business.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Marketing involves trial and error and adjustments. Different techniques are used to see what works, then those which work are chosen for continued use while those which didn't work get dropped as soon as possible.

In many ways, marketing is more scientific in its application than some things we usually think of as science.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Haha. That's true! Everything that involves numbers is science. I think there are numbers in everything.

I agree that marketing is a never-ending experiment and it keeps on changing as per the trends.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You can do that initially, but ultimately they will all operate that way. At that point, I have no idea what to recommend or suggest.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well I don't see a reason not to. After all we are use to all the automated phone services so it should work out fine.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes, this seems like a great move considering the amount of productivity and efficiency McD is going to get.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The unstoppable force of automation.

Soon they will take over the store completely, not only the drive-thru part

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes, I see that happening in a few years. At least in the US. I wonder when such things become normal in India.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This will work well when the communication of order and confirmation is easy to understand. When you have someone at the other end of the order-taking saying "How can I hel you?" and someone in the car asks for a "fountain drink," then there will be problems.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's why it's only 85% accurate. I am sure there is a pre-decided menu and you might have to select it through some app. Also, AI learns over time and adds various words, phrases and accents to its system.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It will be a welcomed idea how they need to work on their security measures because more attack will be on Twitter to see if they can leverage on vulnerabilities and steal users fund

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Knowing Twitter they will put the blame on the wallet company and refuse to pay out.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Chaos!!! The Chaos Legion card packs are coming Oct 18th. That's when you start getting vouchers anyway. Presale lasts a month. Details here.

Going to be interesting to see how this works....

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

#Splinterlands is definitely changing up the way things are being distributed. The Chaos packs are going to be $4 instead of $2 first of all. And these vouchers will be earned over a 30 day period based on the number of SPS you have staked. You'll receive them every day over the presale period, which, as I said above, starts Oct 18th.

It looks like you'll get around 1 voucher per day per every 3000 SPS you have. That's a rough estimate based on 100M SPS staked. You'll collect those vouchers, which can also be bought and sold on H-E it sounds like, during the presale period (30 days) which will end Nov 17th. There will be one more week after that to buy and sell vouchers, and then it looks like you'll finally be able to open them around Thanksgiving when the rest of the packs go on sale. 1M presale packs and then another 14M packs available after that.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

What if you do not have 3,000 SPS?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You will have to buy Vouchers from the third-party market if you want to buy packs.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

From what I understand the voucher thing is only for the presale so if you don't have enough SPS you will have to wait until after the presale

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Actually, I don't think that's true.

We expect that VOUCHER tokens will still be needed to purchase Chaos Legion packs for some time after the set is released as a way to help meter-out the release of the edition and not have the market be flooded with too many new cards right away.

Eventually the packs will just be on full release. There are going to be 15M packs so that's a LOT of cards.

As for what you do if you don't have 3000 SPS...the vouchers will be dropped daily just like the SPS currently is. So even if you don't have enough SPS to get one full VOUCHER, you will still get a fraction. So, it may take you two days, or three days, or however many until you get a full VOUCHER but if you're staking some SPS, you should be able to get one. I was just doing the math based on 100M SPS staked and their number of 33,333.333 VOUCHERS issued per day.

It should definitely create some buying pressure for SPS and incentivize people to HODL it, at least for the time being.

They also talk about the VOUCHERs being used for things in the future so it's probably worth accumulating those as well; which means that there shouldn't be a massive dump of SPS after the card packs are gone.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Ah okay
The first part led me to understand something different but I guess they may be required for some time after the presale indeed. SO I guess people without vouchers will have to wait even longer or just get some vouchers

Can't say I agree with that call but it makes sense since they want to have people holding SPS

We'll see how that goes

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You will get a fraction of a voucher / day. With current staking details, you need around 3000 staked to receive 1 full voucher a day. Getting 0.1 vouchers a day means that on day 10 you can buy a pack.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

LOL I have no idea what that means.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I didn't get my head around the vouchers. It's good that we now have a little heads-up to figure out this. There's still time to gather funds. 😁

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Cool

I'm already hooked so I'll try to set some funds aside to grab a few packs

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This put a nice little rocket under the SPS price as Bitcoin and the rest drop.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea I saw a few posts talking about it...it's too bad its only for a 30 day period.

Top Line Comment Banner for LeoFinance at https://leofinance.io

I may need to reboot the laptop I use to go online, but LeoFinance isn't showing a post I published within the hour. The funny thing is that "@"onealfa was first to upvote my post, so it has to be out there for people to see. I'm unable to see my own post listed on the Created page, although the direct link to the post is good.

I'm not sure what's happening, so this makes it a good time for me to go to bed. I'll be back in several hours and I'll reboot the laptop before then.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

When dodgy stuff like that happens, always:

  1. Switch nodes
  2. Edit the post, put a random space in and hit publish.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I just rebooted my laptop and reloaded the Created page. It took me a while to reach the area where my post should have appeared, but I didn't see it this time either.

  1. Switch nodes

Which node would you recommend, or does it really not matter?

  1. Edit the post, put a random space in and hit publish.

I updated the post with edits. The updated posts notes that it has 1 comment, but the comment doesn't appear.

I reloaded the Created page after I updated my post; it doesn't appear in the list. It's on blockchain, but the front-end isn't showing it on the front pages.

Also, when I view this post using LeoFinance, it shows 0 upvotes for 0.00 LEO; but when I view this post using Ecency it shows 60 upvotes for USD 6.92. The LeoFinance numbers are definitely wrong.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I prefer deathwing's node.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Deathwing is next on my list if Open Hive acts flaky on me. It's actually next on the list, anyway.

So far it's working well for me, but I can forget about it appearing on the LeoFinance Created page or even on my profile page. People are finding my most recent post, and it's getting upvoted, so that's still good for me. Using 500 Ecency Points to promote it for 7 days is helping too.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

UPDATE -- I switched from the default node option to the Hivekings node. No luck.

The post is out there getting upvotes, even if LeoFinance isn't recognizing it. I'd like to make another post using that content, but the upvotes won't carry over and I don't want to get flagged the the Hive Watchers.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

So there is a leofinance.io version of this post, but it's just not getting upvotes.

It is however getting upvotes from Hive and the POB front-ends.

Edit it one more time from leofinance.io and hit publish just to make sure.

If that doesn't work then all I can think of is that one of the hashtags is muted by LeoFinance to stop spam.

Like if you tag a post with that actfit tag, it will get muted and won't earn LEO rewards.

Maybe its that marketing tag?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I recall someone had this problem a while ago and it turned out to be tag use which cause all that grief. It could bethe case here. I didn't think "marketing" or "hive-189306" (for Loving Hive [with heart glyph]) would be the problem.

Very likely it's tags for "dbuzz" and "pizza" and "beer"

I'll remove those tags and try again. Thanks for the reminder.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah, you're probably right.

When you just use hashtags in the body of your post, they count too.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Oddly enough, the only hastags I use in the body are for [SPKNetwork] and [ProjectBlank]. The other tags were added in the tags section.

I logged out of LeoFinance and logged in again. When I went to visit my Settings page I was presented with a white page stating NETWORK FAILURE. I had switched to Hivekings. I switched from this node to [api.openhive.network]. It seems to be working for me, but there is still the mangled post causing me grief even after removing (potentially) offending tags.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't think it's on your end... I noticed I also "lost" a couple of posts I did here on LeoFinance and I also saw someone post about it not long ago. Looks it we're having some kind of issue with the site

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I havent lost posts but have comments.

So it is something to be mindful of.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Same here

No posts were lost, but a few comments

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I want to say there's a glitch in the matrix, but things aren't that bad. It's just something odd at a node.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think I had an issue with this before but I just needed to edit the post and it would show.

Hive-Telos collaboration.

It seems like there is going to be some partnering with different chains. No idea how this one will look.

https://peakd.com/hive/@hiveio/hive-x-telos-collaboration-embracing-synergy

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It's always good to build connections between different blockchains. I saw a comment down there about an airdrop? Do you think it's likely?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This after the SpkNetwork released a road map of its planned integration with Peerplays.

Seems like we are going to be at the center of the transformation to Web 3.0.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It's always good to see these partnerships between networks, it strengthens both communities. Especially when there are gains for everyone.

I hope that more partnerships can emerge soon, especially with the networks I usually frequent.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Do you use Telos?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

No, I just use Waves and BSC more often.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Remember how we were talking about the Litecoin Twitter making claims for the chain?

So here the Hive Twitter has said the chain is partnering with someone with zero further information.

Did an individual get paid to say this?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Question.
Do you think HIVE could get corporate intrusion like most blockchains who are now infested with fly-by-night startups and VC scams or turning into companies to play with community sentiments and run away with funds? Is there any protection in HIVE from such intrusion?

You mean like Justin Sun and Tron tried to do?

The short answer being no, because the most valuable thing here is the community.

And that is something that corporates can't buy.

Hive is battle tested against exactly that.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah something like that.
Is there any form of mechanism in HIVE blockchain that prevents corporate mess up?

Steem was 'taken over' because Steemit Inc (a centralised company) had access to a huge pre-mine of tokens.

With Steem's delegated proof-of-stake governance, this pre-mine essentially gave Stemmit Inc total control over governance.

So when Steemit Inc saw Justin Sun's $$ signs flashing in front of their eyes, they sold the company along with the controlling stake of pre-mined STEEM tokens.

Justin Sun now had total control of the chain by using this stake to vote his own 20 witnesses in.

But the community said no thanks, forked the chain and made Steemit Inc's pre-mine into the Hive DAO to fund development.

This took that massive stake out of play when it comes to governance on Hive and added an extra layer of security via token distribution.

I'll let you do some digging into the actual numbers, but no single account currently holds more than something like 5% of the total HIVE supply.

This means that if someone wanted to take control of governance via accumulating enough stake to vote for 20 witnesses of their own (like Sun did to Steem), they would have to buy HIVE off the market.

The amount of HIVE required would see the price of HIVE pushed to ridiculous levels and still there's no guarantee they would be able to accumulate enough stake to take control.

After what happened to Sun, the risks are too high for any sane billionaire to even try pissing away their money and time to take control of the Hive blockchain.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I guess in the end it was kind of a good thing because we ended up with something much better.

I don't know if things would naturally evolve to what Hive is now but we have something really good going on

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

At worst there can just be another hard fork away from the block chain. The people here will decide which one is the correct one. I think that is what happened between HIVE and STEEM.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That is absolute worst case scenario, but I don't think it will ever get to that because of how distributed the HIVE token currently is.

For someone to try and take control, they have to buy an absolute TRUCKLOAD of HIVE off the open market.

And as you've seen thanks to Splinterlands, there already is just no supply floating around on exchanges.

Add huge demand to a low supply token and price will rip faces higher.

It is now all but impossible to do what Justin Sun did.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well the second layer can be funded by anything. So far, we are not on the radar so no developer is attracting venture capital money at this point. But if we get into the spotlight, it stands to reason that we will see that.

However, that doesnt impact Hive at the core level. That is only what is built on it in terms of games and applications.

The value of PIZZA is close to that of LEO or greater, so it must be a money maker for some people involved in it. It makes money for people, but not in the way most Layer 2 tokens do.

Evergrande causing China problems?

As Evergrande China Group faces a series of massive bond payment due dates, Chinese authorities reportedly asked local governments to start preparing for the debt-saddled real estate developer’s potential downfall, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I thought the Chinese government was going to bail out Evergrande with USD 19B. So which is it? Will Evergrande survive? Or will it be allowed to go bankrupt?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think it may go bankrupt but the Chinese government will buy out the assets under it and support the market. I would be concerned if it completely got destroyed though because its like 29% of its economy.

I was right on the intervention but I guess the chance of defaulting and bankruptcy is still on the table.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

29% of the economy of the People's Republic of China-- !@#$#@!-A !! :O:O:O

After a company goes bankrupt, its assets are sold at small fractions of the local currency to any interested buyers. Other assets are sold to pay creditors luck enough to collect (when government is involved, it's like Darth Vader renegotiating his deal with Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back.)

The Chinese economy may be large enough to take the hit on Evergrande going bankrupt, but it will definitely be painful for the ruling party as well as the people. We shall see what happens next.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well the real estate market is 29%. If Evergrande falls hard, it will crash prices and affect supply lines so the impact on their economy will be quite large. Even if it does go down, they have to at least minimize the damage.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hard it will fall, about that there is no doubt. The question is, how far do the ripple effects go? How will it effect people 12 time zones away? PRC and CCP will minimize the damage, but it will still be mind-blowing in magnitude.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It will affect everyone since China is linked to markets all around the world. Personally I think the prices of commodities will suffer and it will cascade to other industries.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea, the people usually end up paying for the mistakes of those greedy bastards. I've seen that happen more than a few times in my life

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I've lived it too. It can be a life-changing experience. I may not even be on Hive today had things turned out differently then.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well...I think they are prepared for some issues but I do think the government will still intervene.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I really hope we do get Project Blank before the end of the year because I think this can be a good opportunity to attract some people to a real decentralized network with a much better monetization system.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well...I hope we get Project Blank but I have a feeling it won't come out till next year.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That escalated so quickly!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think if crypto needs mainstream it's better to stick with scalable chains instead of ETH and BTC.
They are just crowding the chain with low level transactions and getting people disappointed.

That's true. Hive has a chance to shine there

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

First mover advantage is very powerful, and it can never be underestimated. Bitcoin was first, period. Ethereum was the first programmable crypto thanks to smart contract language.

As great as Hive is-- and we're all singing to the choir here-- it needs to distinguish itself in a way which gives it first mover advantage. Whatever it is, it has to be something no one can associate with Steem or its other forks.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Bitclout failed hard... This is the second-best idea "smart money" came up with.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Don't worry about it. Did you make sure to complete the Cub Farm migration?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes, I've already made a friend and being honest... I wasn't disappointed with what I saw but it saddened me a little for making this migration, as I had invested a lot in the CUB-BUSD farm. I knew what I would see wouldn't be exciting... but nobody likes to see their money turn to dust hahahaha...

Well... you knew about the risks and the impermanent loss... so let's move on.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I believe in it long term and I think the IDO will do a great job of reducing the outstanding supply of CUB.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I agree, let's wait for the next chapters.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Don't worry about that man. I just hope everything is alright with you and your family because we haven't heard from you in a while!

Welcome back

Thank you friend, yes... I had problems here with the family because we always have to support our family members.

And why am I seeing that you are always getting negative votes in your comments? This one that's chasing you doesn't have anything better to do? Nobody told you anything to make this stop?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The Fed is going to release a report about CBDCs.

Personally, I think Powell is playing the stalling game. He needs to be nominated by Biden to keep his job.

In the end, there is no way the Fed goes through with this since it will torch the commercial banking system.

I think any country who wants to go CBDC+Crypto route should watch other countries failures in this space before migrating. I want my singaporean govt to go a bit late into this because we don't want financial disasters into this.

I think this is what's happening: most countries are waiting for problems and quirks in CBDCs to be resolved first, and they're all letting private sector actors figure out things with cryptocurrency before incorporating their findings into their CBDCs.

It's a race for cryptocurrency to gain critical mass before CBDCs can be dropped on our heads as legal tender digital money. Cryptocurrency relies on persuasion and voluntary adoption. CBDCs rely on force of arms by governments whether by properly passed laws or decrees by the rulers.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

As long as the Fed maintains a holding pattern on CBDCs, we're good. IMF may have some other ideas, but this is the Fed we're talking about.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Let's just hope they stick to just discussing and researching.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Robert Kyosaki should stick to basic finance as opposed to trying to get involved in high finance or economics.

The guy really can show how little he knows.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea it seems like Evergrande is desperate. I read somewhere that they were sending notices to some investors that they would give them parking lots at a discounted price instead of paying them the money promised. It's going to be a huge mess.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

At the very least he is telling people to buy Bitcoin so he got something right... of course, he is also telling them to buy gold so maybe he is just all over the place lol

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well he supports both as a hedge to the market and inflation. So I don't think this will change anytime soon.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Probably not. He's been saying this for a long time now and I don't think he's about to change his mind

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

He's been advocating for gold and precious metals for a long time, especially because that's the thing to do. He's been advocating for Bitcoin because that's the thing to do as well. Neither is wrong, and if he advocates for nothing else in the future he won't be wrong on those.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

After that supervolcano erupts or that Jupiter-sized coronal mass ejection passes by Earth and fries all electronics, you may have second thoughts about gold.

It's not "either...or," it's "both...and."

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have no problems with it, it's just not my thing

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's OK. People invest in things they believe in. It's like making a prediction at the prediction markets, only the stakes are greater.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The cryptocurrency total marketcap is now at $2.1 tillion.

This according to Coingecko.

It went back above $2 trillion.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You mean the cryptocurrency total marketcap WAS at $2.1 trillion. Back down to $1.9T. That didn't take long. September sucks....

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Oh that would have been helpful!

Although I can summarize most of my school books in a few words: "This is crap"

LOL

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Even though you can get a summary, it won't save you on the exams.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It could in some cases
Some of my professors were very lazy and the exams were pretty much a copy-paste from the book

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well if you are considering modified or copied versions of questions from the book then I can't complain.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Didn't need AI to get to that point. LOL

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

School textbooks are a scam! It's a rigged market there!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's actually true! I work in that industry somewhat and I can tell I've seen a lot of shady stuff

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Would it make more sense for textbooks to be made into NFTs? It could make the textbooks more affordable yet increase demand for the NFTs. The idea just occurred to me, so I have zero idea how this would work.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

What version of the summary be for the book? Will we see the Cliffs Notes version, the Wikipedia version, the FUD version, the Afghanistan Papers version, the Mad Men version, or the anonymous sources version? The summary is only as good as the input used to provide it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea.. they say in the article that it's still in the early stages and the results are not always very good, especially if the story is not exactly linear.

They also said they have no plans to make the code publicly available so I guess we'll have to wait and see what they use it for

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This sounds as if it would be perfect for a dystopian society. Whichever dystopia you want to name, it will be perfect for it (except Fahrenheit 451, since that one features book burning).

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Oh I don't believe I know that one! I'll have to look it up!

I kinda like fiction about dystopian societies

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Fahrenheit 451 was written by Ray Bradbury. He wrote many books, but this is on of his more famous books. The title comes from that fact (as noted in the book) that books begin to burn at 451 degrees F. Fahrenheit 451 is on the same level as 1984 when it comes to importance.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Nice. Autoignition is a cool chemical concept that some people are not aware of

I've read 1984 and I love it but I didn't know Farenheit 451 so it's now on my reading list. According to my reading plan, I should get to it sometime in the next couple of months!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

No autoignition-- it's not that cool. A team of "firemen" show up to some offending site to burn the offending content.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Huxley - Brave New World. Recommended if you liked Orwell's 1984

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Why do I feel like people will exploit this to skew results in their point of view? It feels like its going to make people read less.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Lol, this would have surely spared us the time and money wasted on books of which lecturers never got to the end of it!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

My thoughts exactly!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Weren't they called Cliff Notes when we were in school. Yeah they weren't electronic and you had to go through the hassle of holding a book instead of reading from a screen.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Cliffs Notes along with Monarch Notes. Those were the big time-savers when we were in schools.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It looks like Musk is still not over with Doge. I think the headline was very exaggerated since he was only stating the obvious regarding fees but oh well... the media will do its thing

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea it looks like the market pumped along with his tweet so there are definitely people buying into the hype.

I'm not saying this isn't true, but it's the first time I see Hive described this way. Here is what SimpleSwap has to say about Hive:

Hive (HIVE) is a cryptocurrency of the Hive platform that provides new financial liquidity to small businesses using blockchain technology. Hive also offers them a range of cryptocurrency-based funding options.

(I got to SimpleSwap while using PeakD to access my wallet.)

How true is this, and is this a good marketing pitch to make to people?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have a feeling people will confuse this with the stock HIVE.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I thought the description was odd (even if true), but beside the crypto name and the symbol was the Hive logo. And I only mentioned SimpleSwap because there is a link to it on the Wallet page as shown on PeakD.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah, it's the first time I see Hive described that way as well. Not sure if it is the best way to go about it

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I agree. Still, it's good to be aware of it in case we need it should anyone ask us what good is Hive.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It looks like bitcoin.org was hacked for a few minutes. Apparently the hackers put up the old "double your money" scam and unfortunately someone sent them 0.4 BTC.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea it's unfortunately people dived right into that without thinking. Are they doing anything to prevent this from happening again?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

They said they are investigating and they also contacted the company that host their servers but not a lot of details were shared

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I couldn't find a link in English for this because it's very local but a Brazilian city is going to reward crypto to citizens who decide to use sustainable transportation instead of private cars. The token they chose is AYR, which I don't really know much about.

I don't have many details on the project so I didn't know if it has a high chance of success but I guess it's a start...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It sure is a start. By sustainable transportation, does it mean EVs?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It can be EVs although I believe there are only very few, if any, EVs in that city. It's a very small one.

It also includes collective transportation like buses and trains and zero-emission transportation like bikes.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This could be interesting to the Cardano fans out there. It looks like they are going to announce some really big news this weekend at their Summit.

It's a bold claim. I guess we'll have to wait and see if the announcement lives up to the hype. Unless anyone has any juicy spoilers for us?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't think so. However they better live up to the hype otherwise we might see another dip on their prices. It seems like getting people's expectations up but not living up is something that might happen.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

There is an update on the land project and he is planning a ecobank presale. I don't think there is a specific date yet.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I really like what he's doing. I'll definitely try to invest.

The land is kind of close to where I am so I'd love to visit it when it's done

Just shared something earlier about China's stance on cryptocurrency and saw this article. What the hell?

https://www.trustnodes.com/2021/09/24/bloomberg-publishes-fake-news-on-bitcoin-as-china-prints-100-billion

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Gotta love our media. Can there be any doubt they have an agenda? They are intentionally selling the narrative that everyone needs to rely on government, all the while creating an environment where only the government can survive.

People better wake up soon and get these people out of power because it's just getting worse. It won't be long until some of these countries start trying to confiscate stuff. Mark my words. Not your keys, not your crypto.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

People better wake up soon and get these people out of power because it's just getting worse.

Let them stay in power-- we just let them be rulers of a dwindling poulation and therefore over a diminishing tax base.

It's supposed to be government by the consent of the governed, only those days passed us long ago (probably before any of us were born). If these rulers insist on continuing as they are, they we need to make it as expensive as possible for them to rule. It happened to Rome, and it can happen to us.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Bloomberg is one of the largest purveyors of FUD in the world-- both the media company and its founder-owner.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well money talks. I don't think anyone is surprised by this.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

China just printed 120 billion yuan out of thin air and earlier they made crypto illegal in the country.

Which one is a scam now?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The former is a scam, only it won't be called that by the rulers. Double standards on display.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes, they are being as hypocritical as possible.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think they are preparing for the Evergrande situation going bad...and we obviously know that China is doing it because they can.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes, they are preparing for Evergrande situation. Making people's money a lot less valuable.

Scrolling the channels on TV just now, something on CNBC caught my eye.

China now bans all crypto activities, not just mining like it did in May. All in an effort to stem outflows of capital away from governmental issued coins.

Imagine that?????

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Energy-intensive mining is being given as the excuse. Not all cryptos use mining, and those which do aren't necessarily energy-intensive. It lets China use "climate chgange" as an exuse for the bans on crypto. This could be the first time that China expressed concern about climate change.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

China’s crypto trading ban on Friday is the most serious yet as per some of the Chinese citizens.

Its central bank has declared all virtual currency-related activities illegal, naming Tether for the first time and sending down bitcoin and ether prices.

This one will have a huge impact on the markets for a few days. This is the ATH of the Chinese FUD.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

My two earlier comments were based upon western news media spin on the cryptocurrency situation in China. Below is a link to the actual statement by the People's Bank of China. You can use Google Translate to read the English (or language of your choice) translation, as I did, to make your own determinations:

http://www.pbc.gov.cn/goutongjiaoliu/113456/113469/4348521/index.html

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Lol, they banned crypto once again after banning it hundreds of times before. 😂

Hi all, does anyone know the token address for Cakepop/Busd Lp?

I decided to try to make these token do some work for me and so got some LP on pancake swap but they are not showing up in my wallet when on Cubfinance.

Thanks in advance

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hey Mate, Each farm has a link to get the LP Tokens. To get Cakepop/BUSD LP, here's the link:

https://pancakeswap.finance/add/0xe9e7cea3dedca5984780bafc599bd69add087d56/0x2f0de2cfa6f4b3a7fd4b650a4c771e07718bb4b0

It might take some time for those tokens to appear when you open the above link.

image.png

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks, I actually realised that I added LP using the add Liquidity dropdown menu on Cub Finance. Seems that that could still be set to the old Version 1 and not updated yet.
Got it sorted when I used that link on the farm page.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's cool mate. Don't just Cub Finance's LP facility to create LP Tokens. As you mentioned, it is still the old version.

DAOs ‘Can’t Operate in the Wild West Forever’, Says FWB Co-Founder

image.png

This is a continuing debate about DAOs whether they should be regulated, if yes, to what extent. It would be interesting to see the crypto community's reaction to it. What is your take?

https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@successforall/daos-can-t-operate-in-the-wild-west-forever-says-fwb-co-founder

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The first question is how do they regulate DAOs?

The second question is, if DAOs are regulated, would they do what they are intended to do?
