He announced plans for a series of cottage industries to be initiated by the first quarter of the next year, aimed at revitalizing the local economy.

Noteworthy among them was the construction of a 1,600-bed hostel accommodation, a significant investment of 4 billion naira. In a bid to accommodate increasing student enrollment, Governor Alia announced the establishment of a new State University of Agriculture Science and Technology to be located in Ehu, as well as the opening of new faculties at Benue State University. The new faculties, which include Pharmacy, Architecture, Science and Technology, and Communications and Media Studies, are projected to absorb more of the over 24,000 applications received this year, thereby expanding potential opportunities for students while addressing the growing educational demands in the region.
