I didn't get your point. When I click on the Seeking Alpha link, I am redirected to the Leo Finance page (my profile page).

Didn't understand the "No Follow" point.

You mention in your post that getting links from higher ranked sites improves the ranking. This is true, for sites with higher Domain Autjority - Google, the operator of Google Analytics doesn’t care about Alexa.

Thenthere’s the attribute nofollow for links. A link marked nofollow tells the search engines to not follow that link. And the SA website link to Leo is marked nofollow. So it won’t affect the ranking of Leo (pass on any Google juice).

But, as said, appreciating the link nevertheless!

I'm guessing SA make the link a 'nofollow' and the user can't edit this?

It is actually sound practice to make outgoing user profile links nofollow, because they are usually “not vetted”.

Users can put paid links or links to for example gambling sites there. That type of links could be penalized by Google, especially if many users do after they turn inactive, so nofollow is recommended.
