TechNova might be fictional, but the moral of the story certainly isn't.

Businesses building their audience on web2 platforms like Twitter are at their mercy.

Don't risk it.

We've seen so many users and businesses hit this wall already but it hasn't stopped others from protecting themselves. Web3 sites are still too hard to get started on, too niche to monetize well and to few followers for big names.

It will change at some point when we get a viable alternative so the real question is who can build that app first and mainstream it.

Right now, the risk:reward between having your audience taken from you and being able to easily expand it is more positively skewed to the later.

But it only takes 1 click by a 3rd party and all that work was for nothing.

Slowly but surely, the risk won't be worth it.
