#gmfrens 💚😵

Felt a bit shit on Saturday so skipped coffee for just 2 days.

Let's just say the caffeine withdrawals were much worse than the upset stomach.

Man, just imagine a heroin detox?!!

Fuck thatttt.

Sort:

Yeah, fuck any drug withdrawal/detox. I did, however, cut back on my caffeine yesterday, and slept much better than I have in awhile.

I'm only normally at 2 cups per day and man... the headache at the end of day 2 without any!

When you say cut back, how do you do it?

Usually I have coffee in the morning, an energy drink midday, then coffee all night at work. I delayed the energy drink so that I was still sipping it when I started work, then halfway through I switched to water instead of coffee. Success.

Ah yeah, the key is definitely to taper.

Is this going to be your new routine now or you'll go back to normal haha?

The sleep was awesome, so I think I'll try for this routine. Try being the key word. :)

I get major headaches when I try that. I have to go down slowly. I usually manage to reduce it to one cup/day or even quit for a few weeks and than I bounce right back :/

Haha yeah, I don't really want to quit entirely.

I enjoy the whole experience around coffee too much 🤓.

But it is a little confronting to realise how addicted I am to caffeine even though my routine is just 2 cups a day haha.

I guess I don't have to worry about caffeine withdrawals. If you stay off it long enough, you can get off of it.

You're not a coffee drinker at all, right?

I don't drink coffee much. I prefer tea or water.

Good morning. I love coffee and drink one or two cups a day. I heard that some studies show it's good for health... I'm not sure.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you :)

I've read about those same studies and hope its true!

Do you ever have caffeine withdrawals like headaches on days you skip your 2 cups?

Indeed, if I have a headache, coffee often cures it. So I thought coffee was a headache remedy.
I never thought of it as a withdrawal symptom, but maybe it is.

The power of placebo! :)
