Not sure that I'm on board with this one. If you're passionate about something that makes you happy, and that matters to you, then what's the problem? Life's stressful enough as it is.

Or, is it being used more like a drug, so they don't have to deal with real life? It's also not about having fun, but where so many choose to be passionate where it doesn't matter. Let's call it the difference between shallow and depth.
This is real life for people. It may not be a "deep" part of real life, but why does it always have to be deep? Simplicity is also a part of real life, and it can hold equal or greater value than complexity.
I have no issue with people having fun being active, but being so passionate about how well someone else does, because you're a lazy spectator I can't respect. Meer spectators aren't living.
If it makes them happy and doesn't harm others, what's the foul (disregard the sports pun lol)? Plus, if their spectatorship is one part of an otherwise productive life, how can you claim they're not living?
It does harm others actually. We can't be controlled without the majority being apathetic.
How does a few hours of fun at a sports game make someone completely apathetic towards everything else in life? I think you're making a big presumption here on the basis of a single moment of someone's life.
Ok, this is getting old... You are viewing this with tunnel vision when the point is in the wider field of view. It's not just about football or the limited amount of time they watch a game. It's the mindset.
Sure, but why does the mindset have to matter so much? They have the right to think how they want to think, and if they want to find joy in sports, then that's their prerogative.
You don't have rights, just privilege's
I know many who live and breathe sports and never get much deeper anywhere else in life either(too common). It's also about the fact that many of them are blind patriots and make good slaves. Plus more, but this is as far as I go.
If this brings them joy and satisfaction in life, then I'd say they're doing all right. The search to find happiness in life isn't easy for many of us, and we've only got the one shot (as far as we know).
Your opinion noted. I don't care to change it, but I don't respect it
It's about the meathead stereotype.
Eat, sleep, work, eat, flip channels on the tv and repeat.
Sounds all too familiar lol. However, if this makes someone happy, I certainly won't judge them. All people are different, and I've gradually come to accept that.
Well, you are about complimenting and I'm not, so it's unlikely we'll agree on such topics
