RE: The BRO Phenomenon

in LeoFinance2 years ago

Where we can find some numbers about it... The APR for HP delegations, APR for holding the token, etc.? I know that numbers are changing as the price goes up and down, but it would be nice to have details about it in one place...

I was wondering about that as well. Even the first time when I wrote about the project.

PS: Looks like I double commented, once here and once on your post.

Sort:

If I have calculated well, APR on HP delegations is around 8.5%, but I could be wrong... For HODLing BRO tokens, I couldn't do it as I have no idea what do you get for doing that...
Also, the good thing is that they buyback BRO tokens from the market to pay HP dividends, which isn't the case with some other projects...

You were counting only the BRO received for delegation, right?

But by increasing the BRO holdings, the dividend will grow. The dividend itself fluctuates, so you can't calculate an APR for that. Or you can, but it will be different every time.

The votes on posts are also at different weights, so the weight isn't 100% influenced by your BRO holdings, although that might be a factor in how high the vote would be.

It's not easy to calculate the APR for BRO... If we factor in the increase in price, that automatically changes the APR if we calculate in HIVE or in USD.

Yes, that's right... BRO dividend value x 365 / HP delegation...

Hmmm... If I got it right, that's another layer of income and NOT an HP delegation income... So, it can't be just added to your HP delegation earnings... like APR on mining tokens, and after that staking mined tokens for further income...

This one I didn't know and it can be a game changer for people who post regularly... I know that many people profit from this type of earning on Liotes...

That's understandable and it works the other way around too... If the price goes down... Calculating APR on HP delegations isn't that complicated as you convert it in HIVE and that's it...

But, to have some insights, it would be nice to have some CURRENT numbers...

Sorry for the many questions... I like to do my research before going into something... lol...

Yes, we can say this is not the APR from the delegation. It's the dividends from holding BRO.

Yes, the votes come from the Brofi account.

Agreed!

I calculated the APR for my latest BRO dividend. It is 2.36%.

How I did it. The dividend is paid weekly in HIVE. To "talk" in the same unit, I converted the HIVE payment to BRO at the closing price (which was the ask) from the date of the dividend payment. If I take the bid instead, it's 2.52%.

Divided the dividend (in BRO) by my BRO holdings at the time and multiplied by (365/7).
