In this day and age, influence means the world. You can move mountains with enough influence and we have seen what happened with GameStop just to mention something. That happened due to influence. Influence and team effort, but influence was definitely the main ingredient.
The same can be said about "The AMAZING Hive & LeoFinance Push On Twitter" we saw ~2 weeks ago. It was due to influence, team work and passion for our beloved blockchain.
However, most of us have experienced or at least heard of what happened when Justin Sun arrived at Steem. Hive is the result of that. Hive is what happened because of a lying thief who stole $6M+ directly from Steem holder wallets.. Justin Sun is a scammer, a thief and frankly put, a real douchebag..
The worst part of people like this, is that they often have money to spend. Money they've often acquired through not-so honest, legit and trustworthy things. The fun part about it, is that they are so full of themselves so they believe in their own bullshit and expect others to do so blindly.

We don't see huge green numbers for TRX and due to comments to these tweets, comments by users like you and me, Akon decided to delete his tweet. A tweet he was paid for.
Instead of the original tweet, he made a new one. The one you can see above. 'Research helps to make good decisions', and he totally nailed it with that tweet. Justin Sun is a wanker who have proved time after time that he is a lying turd and the world seems to have started to recognize that.

To be honest, I never liked the entire of idea of "influencers" that could be bought... that's not influence, that's just straight advertising. My travel agency isn't better because William Shatner says so, it's better because it has better service. But I guess a lot of people are kind of shallow...

That is very true. People are getting paid to advertise various things, but their audience blindly follows whatever they say due to the influence they have.. And that influence is only based on the number of followers they have.

fuck both him and the celebrities. To be honest all of them belong to the same category in my mind.
You got a guy who instead of focusing on his product he tries to uplift its value by paying celebrities to promote it, then people will buy in bulk and he will make money fast with a somewhat broken product.
At the same time, we got all these celebrities that don't give a damn about their role as "influencers" and for the sake of money, they do everything. no sense of responsibility at all and what will they say if someone talked back to them

That is very true, and also shows that these influencers can have a bad influence. That is actually one of the reasons for me to never reward a "famous person" just because they are "famous". It takes more than that to get my attention. I have seen many "influencers" and/or "youtubers" walking away with a shit ton of money because people reward them in some weird attempts of getting recognition and "free marketing".
You can't just hand people money left and right without getting something in return..

exactly! i also do the same, i wait a bit and then depending on their progress i may reward them. The majority of people though believe that if we have an influencer on Hive/Leo we gonna get more people. This is partially true because it depends on the influencers if he/she gonna promote hive/leo etc etc

Yeah, it is a shame he does things like this even though he downplayed it in his tweets it just made it look more silly and at the end of the day he is just begging for everyone's attention.
