I think it makes sense and it's hard to tell whether or not people are really what they show themselves as. The internet and games can be helpful but it can also be detrimental. So it depends more on the person itself.

If one doesn't perceive the difference between the virtual (game) and reality, then indeed that's an issue. But even in real life we have people who live in their own world and there are sociopaths who don't have empathy toward other people and may even enjoy inflicting harm on others.
