It is an interesting solution to how to deal with people you don't like. I prefer the approach of muting over starting a flagging war.

When you mute someone, their posts and comments are hidden. This means you can just completely ignore them. I think its better than down voting people since people are really conscious of their rewards.

I agree that downvoting comes with a huge stigma and hate. That's the problem with them! When you strip someone's rewards, their sour reaction is understandable. You cannot expect most people to understand why Downvotes are a good thing when they are at the receiving end.

It also tends to create a lot of drama when downvoting.
Those who get muted tend to not being drawing a large amount of rewards. So muting is likely the best option.
