I wonder how other dietary factors, and baseline abilities, were taken into account. It would also be useful to see how this applies towards older age groups, who tend to have more significant health problems that could hamper their performance, but who could also benefit more from exercise and weight reduction. Even further, I'd be interested to see the effect on performance in elite athletes who reach a much higher max heart rate % and maximum VO2!

From a personal standpoint, I'm 58 years and I do high intensity workouts 5 to 6 days a week for over ten years now and of course in order for me to do such workouts I have to worry about what I put into my body. I definitely work hard to not eat anything past 8pm especially carbs. Honestly, it's a case by case basis and why it's important to do the research. I found out about this article through Arnold Shwarzenegger. I'm on his subscribers list and NO I like nothing like the man but at his age he's still beast mode so I like to follow guys north of my age and get some solid tips along the way.
