I was actually retrenched in April, so surviving have been more like a miracle. The lockdown continues here in South Africa.
The company now intends to use me as a subcontractor, last week was the first time I worked since April I was offered very little to do the project which is now completed last Friday.
Now seating at home and hoping for another job to come up. It is just one big fat mess with Covid you know.

Yeah I recall your predicament. Sucks ass. There are many people worse off than I am of course, but my situation is personal to me, I live it, and so it takes priority. I've heard so many bad stories though and what I hate to hear is when companies take advantage of the situation and treat staff poorly. They seem to be have no conscience. I hope things pick up for you, and everyone else, soon.

ENGAGEtokens.Good luck with the upcoming job. For me, I am still in uni though I shouldn't. I feel for people age 23 and below who are fresh graduates, this covid-19 will make many of us unemployed for a while and even dragged several years since we'll be competing with the previous employee who are laid off. I am slightly relieved that many people my age are now making money via youtube or some other means. I think that'll save my generation and below for a while before we go into a traditional office job. Though, I personally hope people embrace remote work culture except the obvious one like construction and well, medical field.

Working remotely is on the rise due to the pandemic, I am a field worker so I don't fit that category unless I career...
