in LeoFinancelast year

Just to give some examples for us here in Canada:

  • Disney+ started at 7 bucks a month, it's now up 14.99 a month, 7.99 if you want ads. (I canceled)

  • DAZN (Canadian sports streaming) started at 20 a month, it's now up to 34 a month. And you get ads, without any other option. (I will cancel after the NFL season)

  • Paramount+ was only 5 bucks a month, it's now over 8 bucks a month ONLY IF you sign up for a year. It's over 10 a month. (I haven't signed up sign the increase)

And there are so many more examples. This is price gouging and nothing more.

Sort:

kind of gouging but companies that have input costs that go up
.Min wage/labor/electricty/AWS servers/fuel etc..
then never pay they keep the margin they want and pass along to the rest of us.

This is the story of the last 3 years. or 50 years

Grocery companies and cable /internet companies have made a killing off of humanity during these past few years. There's one thing to increase prices because of rising costs, then there is almost doubling your fees.

true but TBH they are just keeping the same margins.
the inputs into those business'es has gone way up.

but we can agree to disagree
