Each week, we feature some of the highlights from the many pieces of content contributed by the Leofinance community. Here are just a few of the posts we have spotlighted this week.
Using Monero to get clean Bitcoin
this could be the post for you. Using these methods is probably a good idea for long term BTC hodling. Any extra security and privacy you can give your stash should be considered.@forexbrokr brought us this guide to shifting Bitcoin into a clean wallet that will break the links of your Bitcoin to its history. In this day and age, everything on the Bitcoin chain can be tracked, and the history of coins analyzed. If you are looking to add as much privacy as possible to your BTC stash,
Requiring extra security and anonymity for your funds is your right and should be your decision to make.
Using Monero (XMR) to clean your Bitcoin is one strategy available that you can use to remain anonymous.
Shapeshift DAO and the FOX token
The transformation of Shapeshift, one of the early pioneers of the crypto industry, has been a fascinating case study in shifting away from centralized control. Over the last year or so, the founder Erik Voorhees has been able to turn the company into essentially a cross chain DEX aggregator. @dragosroua takes a look at how the DAO functions, and what role the FOX token plays for both pooling and governance in the eco-system. It has been fascinating to watch Shapeshift re-invent themselves recently.
All activity in the DAO is conducted via proposals and voting. They used a platform called Boardroom, built on top of Ethereum, which is like a DAO management tool.
What are Hive Backed Dollars (HBD)
This was an old post, put together by the @crypto-guides initiative being headed by @forexbrokr. It gained a lot of attention early in the week, as the rise in Hive price to new highs made the dynamics of the relationship between HIVE and HBD interesting. If you are unsure of anything related to HBD's, or are newish to Hive and want to learn more about the economics of the base layer tokens, this guide covers it in incredible detail. I highly recommend scrolling back through the profile of the @crypto-guides account, there is sure to be a guide there that you may find useful. HBD has come in to focus lately, with the rising HIVE price resulting in more HBD being received for post payouts.
When it comes to stablecoins of this nature that run on truly decentralised, permissionless networks, there aren’t many options besides Hive Backed Dollars (HBD).
A Look at El Salvador's Volcano Bond
There were a few posts through the week about the bold move from El Salvador, planning to issue Bitcoin backed Bonds to fund a new "Bitcoin City" to be built. This post by @chekohler looks in detail at the initiative. Highlighting some of the potential risks, along with the benefits gives this post a balanced and insightful tone. The centralization of some of the players behind this offering are concerns, but the benefits are also interesting to explore. @chekohler's approach is very balanced, and his conclusions usually err on the side of a more measured, cautious approach which make a nice counter to much of the ra ra hype you see around these days. This post is highly recommended.
The creativity around these bonds are great to see, and it shows that Bitcoin is starting to make its play to eat up the fixed income market. If this bond is a success, many other countries may copy the model to fund their next projects or expansions into Bitcoin.
The Yield Curve is telling a Different Story
@taskmaster4450 always has some interesting posts on the cards, and between his two accounts (plus occasional posts for @lbi-token and @spinvest) it is hard to imagine how he is not some kind of AI being. Anyway, this post stood out for me this week. The bond market and yield curves may seem like a particularly dry and boring topic, but @taskmaster4450le explained very clearly how relevant watching this market as a key leading indicator can be. In this case, the market is warning us that economic clouds and some tough times may be on the horizon.
What is important is the bond market is telling us there is a higher likelihood that something bad is going to happen. The optimism about the future simply is not there.
So there you have it, this weeks selection of some of the most interesting posts I have found on Leofinance this week. Of course, this selection is purely subjective on my part, there has been a lot of other great content around this week.
All images used have been sourced from the articles linked. If anyone would prefer I didn't use your image in this way, please let me know and I will happily remove it.
Thanks everyone for reading, and keep that great content coming.
