I agree. They could put pressure on the centralized exchanges. A few days ago they said that since most ethereum validators are in the US, transactions happen in the US, so I guess they could make a similar approach with witnesses.

With regulation in now being discussed more in the US, how decentralized is #hive and what impacts can we potentially expect?
The regulation will apply most to centralized exchanges. So if #hbd was listed on them in the United States, it would have to be dropped.
Blocktrades, although not really a true exchange, will have to drop HBD.
