I don’t eat this stuff anymore. Perhaps a cheat day I may sneak a snack size one during the Halloween season. If I had to choose just one, I would choose TWIX.
I'm into my eleventh year of a health and fitness journey so I eat alternative options for my sweet tooth that is much healthier as well 💪 Hope you are having a great week so far @selfhelp4trolls
That's about right. Basic an alternate development pathway of thorchain as I understand it. Started from the same place, but ventures out on alternate paths and has different goals.

Brazil forward Vinicius, 24, was Real Madrid's top scorer last season as the Spanish giants won the Champions League and La Liga.
Manchester City's Spain midfielder Rodri helped his country win Euro 2024 in July and also won the Premier League, Uefa Super Cup and Club World Cup with City.
Brazilian news commentators described the decision as an unjust and retaliatory move, with some concluding that it was the most controversial decision in the award's history.
Many claimed the Real Madrid player was denied the award because of his stance on the racism he faces in Spain.
"We know that Vinicius is a target of racism in Spanish football and other parts of Europe, and he actively fights against racism," said Guga Chacra, a commentator from the leading Brazilian TV news network Globo News.
"This leads us to question whether the result that gave Rodri the win was influenced by prejudice and racism against Vinicius."
Gustavo Faldon, sports editor for the Brazilian daily Estadao said: "The [treatment of] Vincius was the biggest injustice in the history of Ballon d'Or.
"The fact that he is Brazilian, plays for Real Madrid, and is a forward should have worked in his favour in the history of the award."
"It sounds like an injustice to me," added Rodrigo Bueno, a sports commentator for ESPN Brasil.
Milly Lacombe, a sports commentator for Brazil's UOL news website, said that the Ballon d'Or "missed the opportunity to pay a heartfelt tribute to the most talked-about player of the season - known for his dribbling, goals, ability to make decisive plays, and social activism".
Premier League managers have backed Erik ten Hag to "come back stronger" after he was sacked by Manchester United on Monday.
The Dutchman, 54, was dismissed by the Old Trafford hierarchy following Sunday's 2-1 defeat at West Ham, which left the club 14th in the Premier League.
Ten Hag had the sympathy of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool's Arne Slot, while Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said he was not shocked given the scrutiny on the job.
"I'm so sorry for him. I have an incredible relationship with him. He represented United in the highest level in terms of behaviour," Guardiola said.
"[Football] manager is one of the only professions where people expect you to be sacked. I don't see it with architects, doctors or teachers. It's only in our job. We have to accept it.
"I wish him all the best - he's going to come back stronger. He knows that our jobs depend on the results. If the results are not good enough, you will be sacked. I'm saying that about myself - I'm not an exception."
Liverpool manager Slot said seeing his compatriot lose his job made the news "even harder", but echoed Guardiola's sentiments and expects Ten Hag to be successful again in the future.
"Always your first thoughts are with the person," Slot said.
"We are all in this job so we know that it can happen, but if it happens - especially because I know him a little bit and I know how much work he puts into it - to get this news for him is a pity.
"We also know - especially us from Holland - how well he did at Ajax and he won two trophies over here, so we will see him in the near future again at a big club."
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said it was "sad" to see Ten Hag lose his job but added: "I think he's done a really good job and changed a lot of things. I wish him all the best for his new chapter."
Kissing the badge with hungry delight, Scott McTominay went to celebrate with the fans, fist pumping the air in delight at having helped Napoli smash Palermo 5-0 in the Coppa Italia.
"I can’t talk enough about the fans, the people, the city and the welcome that my team-mates and coaches gave me," noted the midfielder, who moved to Italy from Manchester United in the summer.
McTominay has fallen in love with Napoli and the feeling is mutual with the club’s fans nicknaming their new star ‘McTotally’ for his ability to be totally present and committed to running everywhere and anywhere for the team.
Inexhaustible energy to drive Neapolitans wild with happiness, Corriere dello Sport labelled the midfielder a 'dominant all-rounder' and manager Antonio Conte agrees.
Adored by the fans and esteemed by the club, Conte changed the team’s formation to exploit the Scotsman's capabilities and Napoli can’t seem to stop winning.
Sitting at the top of the Serie A table with 22 points, Napoli are four clear of Inter Milan, their main rivals for the title.
Conte’s reputation strikes fear in the hearts of most opposition fans but not even he could have imagined the ease with which he’s been able to turn the club’s fortunes around considering the poor season the 2022-23 champions had last campaign.
Finishing a staggering 39 points below winners Inter resulted in the worst title defence in Serie A history. A summer of hell ensued with club captain Giovanni di Lorenzo, Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvarastkhelia’s all looking to move on.
Owner Aurelio De Laurentiis had to right a few wrongs and hiring Conte as well as investing more than £100m in the summer transfer market is proving fruitful.
Osimhen may have departed but Conte has reignited Di Lorenzo’s confidence while Kvara is in talks for a new and improved contract. More importantly, Romelu Lukaku, Billy Gilmour, McTominay and a few others were brought in to strengthen the squad.
Gone are the days of Luciano Spalletti’s beautiful Napoli, this is the year of balance, of winning at all costs.
'Conte has 'Juventinised' Napoli: what a mentality' read one headline. "The Azzurri seek victory without compromise, without following a single path, without being slaves to beauty. It is a change of mentality," wrote Sport del Sud.
When Conte first arrived, he was careful to temper expectations aware that his winning reputation had the fans dreaming of yet another Scudetto given he has won three with Juventus and one at Inter Milan, either side of guiding Chelsea to the Premier League title.
Eager to emphasise just how poorly Napoli performed the previous season, he noted the 48 goals conceded in the league, 27 of which were at home, how they finished 10th in the league and their failure to win a place in Europe.
By underscoring the details of their misery, Conte has not only bought time but ensured that should he turn it all around, he will be recognised for accomplishing an immense feat, a minor miracle.
Winning in Naples is always difficult but the manager's plan revolves around addressing three key areas. The first is the mentality, the 'Juventisation of Napoli' if you will.
Conte is renowned for strengthening the mindset of a dressing room and it starts with instilling a serious atmosphere that demands professionalism, intensity and passion at all times.
Napoli must return to working as a collective, a unit that fights for one another, covers ground and remains determined until the very end. By battling together, bonds are forged, and success is celebrated as a team.
The fighting mentality has been Napoli’s Achilles heel for several years. Maurizio Sarri noted how he admired the fight of Juve’s players when battling them for the title as Napoli manager, while several journalists questioned whether the club would have indeed won the Scudetto under Spalletti had they been subjected to more pressure and a more determined rival pushing them until the final day of the season.
Real Madrid won the club of the year award but were absent from Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris, where forward Vinicius Junior was beaten to best men's player by Manchester City's Rodri.
The European champions said their representatives would not go where Real are "not respected" after learning Vinicius would miss out on the prestigious trophy, according to reports from news agency AFP and Spanish media.
It was reported that Real believed Vinicius' team-mate Dani Carvajal had also been overlooked for the main prize.
"If the award criteria doesn't give it to Vinicius as the winner, then those same criteria should point to Carvajal as the winner," the club said in a statement to AFP and Spanish media.
The Indianapolis Colts are benching 2023 first-round draft pick Anthony Richardson and turning to veteran Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback, sources tell ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Adam Schefter.
Colts coaches met Tuesday morning and ultimately decided to change quarterbacks, sources told Fowler and Schefter.
The benching came two days after Richardson asked to come out of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans for one play because, as he told reporters, he "was tired."
Colts coach Shane Steichen said Monday that he was evaluating the quarterback situation, adding that Richardson's request to come out of the game would not be a factor in his decision.
Richardson was 10-of-32 for 175 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss at Houston.
Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Colts today signed safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and placed safety Trevor Denbow on the Injured Reserve list. The team also signed tackle Sebastian Gutierrez and guard Josh Sills to the practice squad and released tackle Jack Wilson from the practice squad.
Harrison Jr., 6-3, 214 pounds, was elevated from the practice squad in Week 2 at Green Bay. He was signed to the team's practice squad on September 11, 2024. Harrison Jr. participated in the Colts' 2024 offseason program and training camp. He was originally signed by Indianapolis as a free agent on August 14, 2023. Harrison Jr. has played in 75 career games (48 starts) in his time with the Colts (2023-24), Cleveland Browns (2020-22) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2018-19). He has compiled 238 tackles (156 solo), 10.0 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 25 passes defensed, seven interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), two fumble recoveries and five special teams stops. Harrison Jr. has also appeared in two postseason contests (one start) and has tallied seven tackles (five solo) and 1.0 tackle for loss.
Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season, coach DeMeco Ryans said Tuesday.
The injury to Diggs' knee happened on a noncontact play in Houston's 23-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Diggs, acquired in an offseason trade with the Buffalo Bills, ranks seventh in the NFL in catches (47) this season and was second on the Texans in yards (496).
Utah Jazz forward Taylor Hendricks is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a fractured right fibula and dislocated ankle in Monday's 110-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, sources told ESPN.
The Jazz confirmed the nature of Hendricks' injuries after the game. The second-year player was to return to Utah with the team for further testing Tuesday, coach Will Hardy said.
"That's hard to stomach," Hardy said of Hendricks' injury. "He's put in a lot of hard work. He's a great kid, and so we're really just trying to focus on him, his health, keeping him up, his spirits up as he begins the road of his recovery. But these are the moments in sports that suck."
Hendricks, 20, collapsed suddenly without any contact with 5:59 remaining in the third quarter. His lower right leg was turned gruesomely to the outside.
Medical personnel immediately brought a stretcher out to the court. Hendricks wore a protective boot on his right foot and used crutches when he exited the American Airlines Center after the game.
The Jazz announced after the game that further updates on Hendricks' status would be provided "when appropriate."
The 6-foot-9 Hendricks, the No. 9 pick in the 2023 draft, is an important part of the Jazz's rebuilding project. He profiles as an outstanding defender, drawing the assignment on Dallas superstar Luka Doncic on Monday night.
Hendricks had two points, three rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes, making his third consecutive start after starting 23 games of his 40 appearances as a rookie.
Manchester United's bid to hire Sporting CP coach Rúben Amorim has moved closer with the Portuguese club informing the country's financial regulator that the Premier League team have confirmed their willingness to pay Amorim's €10 million ($10.79m) release clause.
Amorim is due to take charge of Sporting in a Taca da Liga tie against Nacional at Estadio Jose Alvalade on Tuesday night, but it could be the 39-year-old's final game as coach following confirmation of United's move.
Due to their listing on the stock market, Portuguese champions Sporting have an obligation to inform the CMVM -- Portugal's financial regulator -- of any significant impact on the club's business and they have this afternoon released a statement outlining United's offer for Amorim.
The statement to the CMVM said: "Sporting comes, under the terms and for the purpose of fulfilling the information obligation arising from the provisions of Article 17.º of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014, of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 16, inform the market in the following terms: "1. Manchester United FC expressed interest in hiring coach Rúben Amorim, and the Board of Directors of Sporting SAD referred to the terms and conditions provided for in the employment contract in force between the Company and the coach, specifically for the respective termination clause and for the amount of Euro 10,000,000.00;
Another World Series game, another rough night at the plate for Aaron Judge. After he went 0-for-3 with another strikeout in the New York Yankees' Game 3 loss Monday night, New York finds itself in a familiar spot: waiting for its star slugger to break out.
"He's one swing away," Yankees hitting coach James Rowson told ESPN on Monday. "I know it's a big story, but from my standpoint, this guy is one of the best hitters to ever play the game. On any given night, the whole narrative gets rewritten."
But with the Los Angeles Dodgers one win away from a World Series sweep, New York's superstar slugger is running out of opportunities to flip the script. And those around the sport watching from the scouts' seats, the executive offices or even just in front of their television sets at home see a specific problem that needs to be solved: Judge is chasing too many pitches outside the zone, and L.A. is taking advantage of it.
"The Dodgers are feeding him spin, spin, spin that he is chasing," an American League scout told ESPN. "Then the fastball looks harder than it actually is, so he is out of timing. He needs to stop worrying about the big moment and just go with those sliders and take them into right field and the right-center-field gap."
Handling anything thrown with break or spin has been Judge's Achilles' heel all postseason. According to ESPN Research, he's hitting just .071 on breaking pitches in October, compared to .258 during the regular season. Meanwhile, his strikeout rate on those pitches is a whopping 58.5% compared to 39.8% from March through September.
Every time he flails at another breaking pitch for a strikeout, it allows the Dodgers to keep attacking with the same plan instead of having to challenge him with heat.
PATRICK MAHOMES SAT across from Tom Brady and stared into the face of his future. Their one-on-one interview for Fox's Sunday NFL show took place within the strange setting of a hotel balcony -- Brady wasn't allowed in the pregame production meeting for Week 7's Chiefs-49ers matchup because he's a minority owner of the Raiders -- but the common ground they shared was undeniable.
Brady sat in the 29-year-old Mahomes' chair (so to speak) 18 years ago, during the 2006 season. Like Mahomes, he had already won three Super Bowls by that stage. The NFL shorthand had established him as an all-timer at a relatively young age. The direction Brady's next decade would take was uncertain, but it would have been fair to say he had little to prove. It also would have been fair to say his New England Patriots had high expectations for what could still be accomplished -- and they met them. Brady would play 14 more seasons in New England, winning three more Super Bowls, going to 11 Pro Bowls and earning first-team All-Pro honors three more times.
Mahomes turned 29 on Sept. 17, seven months after he won his third Super Bowl. His Chiefs are 7-0 in the final season of his 20s. The possibilities for the next decade of his career are enticing if you're the Chiefs, concerning if you're the rest of the league. And while the presence of Mahomes is as galvanizing as Brady's was, continuing to win big is going to require not only a generational quarterback but also the stability of a well-run organization to facilitate his strengths.
Brady needed the ecosystem around him to function at a high level, and it did so for a long period. In interviews with industry sources throughout the NFL, the similarities noted between Brady's Patriots and Mahomes' Chiefs are many. Those sources also noted that the league is different than it was in 2006, and highlighted the many ways the ecosystem that can produce an ultrarare, multidecade NFL dynasty is fragile. Kansas City does not have the league's deepest resources and has a reputation for being cautious in how it utilizes them. Andy Reid, its 66-year-old head coach and organizational architect, has an uncertain retirement timetable.
But all agree the Chiefs are set up for greatness, perhaps on an unprecedented scale. Mahomes and Brady know it, too.
Paolo Banchero had the best night of his career Monday.
Banchero tied the Orlando Magic record for points in a half, scoring 37 in the first two quarters against the Indiana Pacers. He finished with a career-high 50 points -- tying the fifth-highest scoring effort in Magic history. Orlando won 119-115.
"Man, I'm tired; I'm tired as hell," Banchero said after the first 50-point effort in the NBA this season. "But it was a hell of a game."
Banchero, the league's Rookie of the Year two seasons ago and an All-Star last year, was 13-of-17 from the field in the half and finished 16-of-26 from the floor. He also had 13 rebounds and nine assists.
"It was just being in the zone," Banchero said. "Felt like I was in an open gym, back at home, just working on my game. Every shot felt like it was going in and it's a good feeling when you've got a day like that. Not every game is going to be like that, but I'm glad today was."
At 21 years and 351 days old, Banchero became the youngest player in Magic history to record a 50-point game, and the second-youngest player with 50 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in an NBA game, trailing only LeBron James (20 years, 80 days) in 2005 against the Toronto Raptors.
Rudy Gay is retiring after 17 NBA seasons, the veteran announced Tuesday.
Gay, 38, last played in the 2022-23 season for the Utah Jazz. He had signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors last summer but was waived shortly before the season.
"I needed to humble myself and be like: 'Look, this is over,' Gay wrote in a piece for The Players' Tribune on Tuesday. "But actually coming to grips with it being over, that's ... a process. One I'm honestly still dealing with, and struggle with at times. I'll still be watching games and see some of these guys missing a pass or fumbling the ball out of bounds, and I absolutely am that dude yelling at the TV like: 'I'm better than that clown. Are you kidding me?!?!?' It's not pretty.
"I'm 38 years old. That's nowhere even near mid-career for most people's professional lives. So, the way I see it, I've got a lot of work ahead of me. ... In the meantime, I'm just feeling extremely grateful for all the love, wisdom, and friendship that I've experienced in the game of basketball."
After starring at UConn, Gay was selected with the No. 8 pick in the 2006 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets and traded a few weeks later to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he made the All-Rookie team that season. He ranks fifth in points, fourth in minutes played and fourth in games played in Grizzlies history.
Dwyane Wade's new statue celebrates a moment where he won a game with his offense. The feedback to the statue had him playing defense.
Wade explained the statue's look and the process of creating it on Monday, one day after the Heat unveiled the tribute. The statue -- with a face that, to put it mildly, isn't a perfect depiction of Wade -- was immediately a talking point, trending globally on social media and even getting mentioned on national newscasts.
"If I wanted it to look like me, I'd just stand outside the arena and y'all can take photos," Wade said Monday. "It don't need to look like me. It's the artistic version of a moment that happened that we're trying to cement."
That moment was the end of a game against the Chicago Bulls in March 2009, when he made a shot to win at the buzzer of double overtime, hopped up onto a courtside table and yelled, "This is my house." The position of his hands in the statue is reminiscent of that moment. But it's the face that has generated almost all of the feedback.
"I care, but I don't," Wade said. "The social media world is about opinions. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone, use y'all opinions. Please talk more about us. Talk more about a statue, come on down to see it, take some photos, send some memes. We don't care."
Told he had tied a World Series record by homering in five straight games, Freddie Freeman grinned.
"Let's hopefully make it six," he said.
Freeman put the Los Angeles Dodgers ahead 15 pitches into the game with a two-run homer off Clarke Schmidt, and L.A. beat the New York Yankees 4-2 on Monday night to take a 3-0 World Series lead.
He matched the mark set when George Springer homered in Games 4 through 7 in 2017 as the Houston Astros beat the Dodgers for the title then hit another in the 2019 World Series opener against the Washington Nationals.
Freeman homered in the Atlanta Braves' last two games against Houston in the 2021 World Series, and he has connected in all three games of this one. He became the third player to homer in the first three games of a World Series after Hank Bauer in 1958 and Barry Bonds in 2002.
Freeman sprained his right ankle on Sept. 26 against San Diego while trying to avoid a tag at first base by the Padres' Luis Arráez and missed the Dodgers' last three regular-season games. He didn't have any RBIs in the National League Division Series against San Diego and posted one in the NL Championship Series against the New York Mets.
Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez won the Roberto Clemente Award, Major League Baseball's prestigious honor awarded annually to the player whose humanitarian efforts exemplify off-the-field service.
The 34-year-old, who has spent all 13 years of his major league career with Kansas City, is the first Royals player to win the award and was lauded for his generosity not only in his adopted hometown but in Valencia, Venezuela, where Perez grew up, and Colombia, where his contributions honor a minor league pitcher who died of cancer.
"When we do something, we do because it's coming from my heart," Perez said. "I don't like to do things because somebody ask me to do it. When I sit with my mom and want to do something, we just do. We don't have to post anything on social media. I don't like that. If I do, I do it for my heart. I want to make people happy."
Perez, the Royals' captain who is one of the most beloved athletes in Kansas City sports history, played on Roberto Clemente Day this year in Pittsburgh, where the Hall of Fame outfielder spent each of his 18 seasons. Perez later donated his catcher's gear from that day to the Clemente Museum. Clemente, the Hall of Fame outfielder for the Pirates, died in a plane crash trying to deliver aid to Nicaragua after a devastating 1972 earthquake. Clemente, esteemed for his philanthropy across Latin America -- including his native Puerto Rico -- was 38.
"I've read a lot [about] Roberto Clemente. I know he was an amazing player, but he was even better outside the field," Perez said. "So that made him super special and made this award super special."
The Roberto Clemente Award is bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of Baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
Every year, each MLB Club nominates a player to be considered for the Award in tribute to Clemente's achievements and character. This year's list of nominees features players whose various community and philanthropic activities have focused on important issues ranging from awareness and fundraising to support those with cancer and other illnesses or special needs, education for young people, natural disaster relief, outreach to underserved children and communities in the United States and abroad, and more.
The World Series is averaging 15.15 million viewers in Japan through two games. According to Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers' 4-2 victory over the New York Yankees in Game 2 averaged 15.9 million, making it the most-watched MLB postseason game in the nation's history.
Besides the allure of superstar and presumptive NL MVP Shohei Ohtani, the game had Yoshinobu Yamamoto as the Dodgers' starting pitcher.
The Los Angeles Dodgers' dramatic 6-3 victory over the New York Yankees in Game 1 -- which ended on Freddie Freeman's walk off grand slam in the 10th inning -- averaged 14.4 million.
Tokyo is 16 hours ahead of Los Angeles, meaning the games started around 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday morning in Japan. The games are being carried through Fuji TV, NHK BS and J Sports.
Combined with the United States ratings, the first two games have a combined 29.7 million average in the two countries.
The World Series is averaging 14.55 million viewers in the U.S. on Fox, Fox Deportes and streaming, putting it on track for its best performance since 2017.
For decades, the Los Angeles Dodgers were known for superstar starting pitchers.
These pitchers remain so indelible that surnames largely suffice: Koufax, Drysdale, Valenzuela, Hershiser, Kershaw, all of whom made World Series starts for championship Dodgers teams.
The Dodgers' 4-2 win in Game 3 of the 2024 World Series on Monday put them on the cusp of another championship, with a historically insurmountable three games to none headlock on the New York Yankees. L.A. can clinch in Game 4 on Tuesday -- traditionally a tremendous opportunity in the career of an ambitious starting pitcher.
The Dodgers' Game 4 starter? In the aftermath of Game 3, the answer to that question remained: Relief pitcher TBD. But we do know it's going to be a bullpen game to perhaps win the World Series.
"That would be fun, obviously, to go out and contribute something like that," Dodgers reliever Daniel Hudson said. "I'm not sure what we're going to do, but we'll go out there and get three, four or five outs and get the ball to the next guy."
Jerrod Mustaf, the Knicks' first-round pick in 1990, died Monday at the age of 55.
Former Knicks first-round pick Jerrod Mustaf, who was embroiled in a murder controversy during his career, died Monday on his 55th birthday, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Do you detect growing friction between Brian Daboll and Daniel Jones? There is no doubt there is growing frustration.
They came, they saw, they lost.
Chalk up another one for the Giants, who provide weekly doses of frustration to a fan base that by now has come to anticipate failure and come to expect that what can go wrong will go wrong.
This one was close and contested but ultimately more of the same. The Giants never took a lead on Monday night, trading field goals in the first half and then did things to ensure they would not pull the upset against the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. They allowed a 73-yard punt return and turned the ball over twice in the final three minutes. There is no margin for error for this team and the result was a 26-18 loss that drops the Giants to 2-6 for the second consecutive season.
Darius Slayton, Azeez Ojulari, Evan Neal and Devin Singletary are all options for the Giants to trade away.
When you heard Giants owner John Mara say that he is not planning to make any changes at head coach and general manager, Joe Schoen probably heard an OK to be a trade-deadline seller.
Mara’s recent vow to be more patient than he has been in the past takes some pressure off of Schoen to act out of self-preservation.
It is shortsighted to keep impactful players in hopes of squeezing out an extra meaningless win or two to show enough “improvement” that it bolsters job security.
The Giants are 2-6 (or worse) at the midway point for the seventh time in eight seasons. None of the prior six resulted in more than six wins.
The team announced the decision on Monday and Sun president Jen Rizzotti told ESPN that the two sides “parted on good terms because some of [White’s] decision-making process was not just about basketball.”
White had led the Sun for two seasons, coaching them to a 55-25 record over that span and helped the Sun make two appearances in the semifinals.
In 2023, she also took home WNBA Coach of the Year honors.
“It’s not an easy decision to leave Connecticut, but I think the best one for my family and my career,” White said to ESPN.
She added: “This has not been easy. But certainly, at the end of the day, it’s tough for me being away from my family. So from a professional standpoint and a personal standpoint, I feel like it’s the best decision.”
Look, it’s entirely possible that this is just a statistical quirk that may have no bases in modern times.
Look, it’s entirely possible that this is just a statistical quirk that may have no bases in modern times. College basketball is an entirely different entity than it was even three years ago, let alone 30.
When Rick Pitino begins his second year as the head coach at St. John’s Nov. 4 when Fordham visits Carnesecca Arena, there will be any number of reasons to feel good about the Johnnies taking a step forward — primarily a roster that, on paper, seems more in tune with Pitino’s methodology.
They offered a hopeful glimpse by beating Rutgers in an exhibition, since Rutgers is a Top 25 team that, by season’s end, might well be taking aim at the top 15.
Those are the actual reasons to have hope.
Here is another:
At every one of Pitino’s previous five college stops, the team took gigantic steps forward in Year 2. Every single time, BU to Providence, Kentucky to Louisville to Iona. And in almost every case, Year 2 set the tone for what would be the entirety of the Pitino tenures there.
While the final score seemed somewhat inconsequential, Rick Pitino has been prioritizing defense heading into the 2024-25 season.
Rick Pitino got exactly what he wanted out of his team in the final tune-up game before St. John’s opens its season against Fordham in just over a week.
After getting caught in an offensive slugfest against Rutgers in the Johnnies’ first exhibition game of the year, Pitino’s squad held the Towson Tigers to 46 points in a 64-46 victory at Carnesecca Arena on Saturday.
While the final score seemed somewhat inconsequential to Pitino, who’s entering his second year at the helm for St. John’s, the legendary coach has been prioritizing defense heading into the 2024-25 season.
The Red Storm had struggled out of the gate last year on the defensive end of the ball, and it’s been a focus of Pitino’s this year to keep it from happening again.
The purpose, for Pitino, in scheduling a team like Towson was to address that very issue.
“We played really great defense, and that’s what we wanted to get out of this game,” Pitino said. “We’ve been working about 75 percent of our practices just with man defense. One of the reasons we [weren’t] ready last year at the beginning of the year is we weren’t very good defensively. We learned a valuable lesson and came away with a valuable defensive performance.”
St. John’s stifled Towson for the better part of the game, holding the Tigers to 28.8 percent shooting from the floor through the 40-minute affair and putting up 26 points off turnovers alone.
Aaron Scott had his first taste of the New York crowd Saturday when he suited up at Carnesecca Arena.
Aaron Scott had his first taste of the New York crowd Saturday when he suited up at Carnesecca Arena.
Queens, New York, is a long way from Texas, but the Lone Star State native said after the Johnnies’ win over Towson that he has been “comfortable” with things since arriving in the Big Apple and working with his new teammates and coach.
“I’m locked in. I’m all comfortable,” Scott said. “Early on, it was difficult. Coming from Texas, New York and Texas are two totally different states. But I got out here in June. Me and the guys hung out off the court, on the court, and we got closer. It’s time now and we’re all locked in.”
Scott finished Saturday’s win with 11 points, along with five rebounds, a blocked shot and a steal.
He is sure to play a big role in helping St. John’s on the defensive side of the ball and impressed the Johnnies staff with his two-way ability.
The allure of New York City is part of the charm of playing for St. John’s, but for Scott, he isn’t getting too caught up in what the Big Apple has to offer.
The Cowboys corner confronted a reporter over an in-game tweet after the loss to the 49ers.
Mike McCarthy understand times have changed, but he still wasn’t thrilled about his player lashing out at a reporter.
The day after his Dallas Cowboys dropped their Week 8 matchup to the 49ers and cornerback Trevon Diggs took out the frustration on a beat reporter, the head coach offered a “sign of the times” analysis on his star cornerback’s blowup and his team’s disappointing results.
“I think we have to be better in those moments, I always talk about staying on a high road,” McCarthy said, per ESPN.
“But I’m not ignorant or naive to the fact that this generation, that’s part of the world they live in, the social media world,” McCarthy continued. “You have to manage that. That’s part of being a professional athlete and that’s part of representing this organization properly.”
The Cowboys (3-4) have dropped consecutive games to Detroit and San Francisco, with their bye week sandwiched between.
They showed more fight in Week 8 with the sting of the Lions’ 47-9 Week 6 clobbering still fresh, but the short-handed 49ers still had no problems scoring in a 30-24 victory.
Amorim has also verbally agreed personal terms with United, with the Premier League giants hopeful a deal can be concluded in time for him to take charge of the match against Chelsea on Sunday.
Barring any last-minute hitches, the United gig will be Amorim's fifth managerial role having previously worked at Casa Pia and Braga's first and second teams.
Amorim will take over a Red Devils side languishing in 14th on the Premier League table and in desperate need of a spark to kickstart their season.
Joe Rogan has claimed Dana White is close to promoting in boxing when discussing the sport with Donald Trump.
White has built an empire in the sport of MMA with promotion UFC, which has been valued at $11.3 billion and has produced some of combat sport's biggest stars including Conor McGregor.
The UFC kingpin has long teased a move into boxing, and recently announced that he would be increasing his involvement in the sport in the coming years.
He currently has began promoting Irish star Callum Walsh and is expected to announce his plans at the start of 2-25.
UFC pundit and podcaster Joe Rogan sat down with US presidential candidate Donald Trump to discuss mutual friend White's move, which Rogan suggested is set to be in partnership with Saudi Arabia.
But none of them earned the same plaudits from RJJ as first-ballot Hall of Famer James 'Lights Out' Toney.
"As far as skill goes James Toney is definitely the best fighter I have ever been in there with and it will never change," Jones Jr told talkSPORT.com.
"James had everything: he had offence, he had defence, he had movement, he had everything.
On Monday, against the odds, it predicted that the Los Angeles Dodgers would win Game 3 and eventually take the World Series. As we saw last night, the chatbot got the first part right, at least.
Today, it’s saying that not only will the Dodgers win the World Series, but they’ll win tonight’s game and be the first 4-0 sweep since 2012 when the Detroit Tigers lost to the San Francisco Giants.
On October 29, 2003, 18-year-old basketball prodigy LeBron James scores 25 points, grabs six rebounds and dishes out nine assists, but his Cleveland Cavaliers lose to the more experienced Sacramento Kings, 106-92. His debut is one of the most impressive in league history—only months earlier, James had graduated from high school.

No wonder I hear a lot of talks about Cacao by khal.
I'm Learning more about decentralized exchanges.
Is it right to say Maya is more like Thorchain?
And Cacao more like rune?
If I'm wrong correct me
yeah, also important to note - 100% of CACAO is in circulation and was fair launched via liquidity auction.
I just keep adding to my cacao bag and it all gets pooled with Leo.
Cacao should see growth is maya grows and reaches deeper.
yeah solid plan

Maya is a friendly fork of Thorchain
Leo built an interface for Maya swaps called https://leodex.io and the $LEO token is listed there
Oh I get that now. More like hive to steemit
Yea, that's pretty much it
I get it now
That's about right. Basic an alternate development pathway of thorchain as I understand it. Started from the same place, but ventures out on alternate paths and has different goals.
I guess you guys have thought me what I couldn't find on Google
Was testing swaps on Leo Dex
It says this.
Looks like you need some Arbitrum ETH to pay for fees
Yeah, and it says 60 Leo would give me 5$ worth of Arbitrum eth. I clicked the gas area, it said successful but nothing really happened. Maybe I'd have to wait a while.
Have tried the gas (60 Leo to arb eth ) twice now
#feedback
ah I see
I hope it gets sorted out!
I'm learning how to use Decentralized exchanges now but what better way to go than support your own platform inleo
THat's the spirit! THe learning curve is a bit steep at first but once you learn your way around things, it will give you a lot of power
it looked rough in the beginning with me downloading my wallet and phrase keys. But like you said, I'm getting the hang of it.
indeed
Yeah and I'm learning a whole lot of new things.
@tsunsica can you help?
There is a faucet where you can swap some Leo for aETH.
Yeah I tried that twice it said successful in both cases, but when I tried making the swaps it still said I need Arb eth.
The faucet said you need aETH? That is very odd.

Yea. No big deal actually, provided you've got other sources of income.
That sounds great, every little bit counts.

How was the UN formed?
The United Nations (UN) was formed on October 24, 1945, following World War II, with the goal of promoting international peace and preventing future conflicts. Its foundation began with the drafting of the UN Charter during the San Francisco Conference from April 25 to June 26, 1945, where representatives from 50 nations participated. The Charter was signed on June 26 and ratified by a majority of member states, including the five permanent members of the Security Council. The UN succeeded the League of Nations, aiming to enhance global cooperation and security.

Remember people, you can be an anarchist and vote (occasionally or consistently).
You can on the whole support a candidate or legislation you're still critical of.
You can vote purely symbolically, or very strategically.
Or you can not vote at all, ever, for whatever reason you want.
Don't let people with agendas scam you into thinking it's all black-and-white, in any direction.
Wise words in these times...
Thanks. It's a time when everyone is trying to bully everyone else into doing what they want.

'Injustice' - Brazil reacts to Vinicius Jr snub
Journalists and politicians in Brazil have criticised Rodri being voted the winner of the Ballon d'Or ahead of Vinicius Junior.
#newsonleo #bbc #sports
Rodri was awarded the prize in Paris on Monday with Vinicius absent from the ceremony along with representatives from his club.
'A missed opportunity'

Premier League managers back Ten Hag after sacking
Premier League managers have backed Erik ten Hag to "come back stronger" after he was sacked by Manchester United on Monday.
The Dutchman, 54, was dismissed by the Old Trafford hierarchy following Sunday's 2-1 defeat at West Ham, which left the club 14th in the Premier League.
#newsonleo #bbc #sports
Portuguese club Sporting confirmed that Manchester United have approached them for head coach Ruben Amorim and are willing to pay his 10m euros (£8.3m) release clause.

How Conte and McTominay have revolutionised Napoli
Kissing the badge with hungry delight, Scott McTominay went to celebrate with the fans, fist pumping the air in delight at having helped Napoli smash Palermo 5-0 in the Coppa Italia.
"I can’t talk enough about the fans, the people, the city and the welcome that my team-mates and coaches gave me," noted the midfielder, who moved to Italy from Manchester United in the summer.
#newsonleo #sports #bbc
"What I can promise is seriousness, a word that is often underestimated," he said.
"Seriousness in giving everything for Napoli, in transmitting my culture at work, my mentality.”

'Not respected' Real Madrid absent from Ballon d'Ord'Or
Real Madrid won the club of the year award but were absent from Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris, where forward Vinicius Junior was beaten to best men's player by Manchester City's Rodri.
The European champions said their representatives would not go where Real are "not respected" after learning Vinicius would miss out on the prestigious trophy, according to reports from news agency AFP and Spanish media.
#newsonleo #sports #bbc
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and forward Kylian Mbappe both won individual honours but neither was present to receive their award.
Spain international Rodri, 28, won the men's Ballon d'Or ahead of Vinicius and Real Madrid team-mate Jude Bellingham.
Brazil international Vinicius, 24, was Real Madrid's top scorer last season as the Spanish giants won the Champions League and La Liga.
After Rodri was confirmed as the winner, Vinicius posted on X: "I'll do it 10x if I have to. They're not ready."
"As this was not the case, it is clear that Ballon d'Or-Uefa does not respect Real Madrid. And Real Madrid does not go where it is not respected."
But prior to the ceremony organisers said "no player or club knows who has won the Ballon d'Or".
BBC Sport has contacted Real Madrid for comment.

Bahia
Thaciano recebe o terceiro cartão amarelo e desfalca o Bahia contra o São Paulo
Sources: Colts bench Anthony Richardson, turn to Joe Flacco
The Indianapolis Colts are benching 2023 first-round draft pick Anthony Richardson and turning to veteran Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback, sources tell ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Adam Schefter.
Colts coaches met Tuesday morning and ultimately decided to change quarterbacks, sources told Fowler and Schefter.
#anthonyrichardson #nfl #sports #colts
The benching came two days after Richardson asked to come out of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans for one play because, as he told reporters, he "was tired."
Colts coach Shane Steichen said Monday that he was evaluating the quarterback situation, adding that Richardson's request to come out of the game would not be a factor in his decision.
Richardson was 10-of-32 for 175 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss at Houston.
Colts place S Trevor Denbow on IR, sign S Ronnie Harrison Jr.; make additional practice squad moves
The Colts made the roster moves on Monday.
#colts #nfl #sports
Texans WR Stefon Diggs out for season with torn ACL
Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season, coach DeMeco Ryans said Tuesday.
The injury to Diggs' knee happened on a noncontact play in Houston's 23-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Diggs, acquired in an offseason trade with the Buffalo Bills, ranks seventh in the NFL in catches (47) this season and was second on the Texans in yards (496).

Sources: Jazz's Taylor Hendricks to miss rest of season
Utah Jazz forward Taylor Hendricks is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a fractured right fibula and dislocated ankle in Monday's 110-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, sources told ESPN.
The Jazz confirmed the nature of Hendricks' injuries after the game. The second-year player was to return to Utah with the team for further testing Tuesday, coach Will Hardy said.
#jazz #nba #sports #taylorhendricks
Rúben Amorim: Sporting confirm Man United interest in coach
Manchester United's bid to hire Sporting CP coach Rúben Amorim has moved closer with the Portuguese club informing the country's financial regulator that the Premier League team have confirmed their willingness to pay Amorim's €10 million ($10.79m) release clause.
Amorim is due to take charge of Sporting in a Taca da Liga tie against Nacional at Estadio Jose Alvalade on Tuesday night, but it could be the 39-year-old's final game as coach following confirmation of United's move.
#sports #epl #manu #rubenamorim
Due to their listing on the stock market, Portuguese champions Sporting have an obligation to inform the CMVM -- Portugal's financial regulator -- of any significant impact on the club's business and they have this afternoon released a statement outlining United's offer for Amorim.
The statement to the CMVM said: "Sporting comes, under the terms and for the purpose of fulfilling the information obligation arising from the provisions of Article 17.º of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014, of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 16, inform the market in the following terms: "1. Manchester United FC expressed interest in hiring coach Rúben Amorim, and the Board of Directors of Sporting SAD referred to the terms and conditions provided for in the employment contract in force between the Company and the coach, specifically for the respective termination clause and for the amount of Euro 10,000,000.00;
Inside Yankees star Aaron Judge's World Series struggles
Another World Series game, another rough night at the plate for Aaron Judge. After he went 0-for-3 with another strikeout in the New York Yankees' Game 3 loss Monday night, New York finds itself in a familiar spot: waiting for its star slugger to break out.
"He's one swing away," Yankees hitting coach James Rowson told ESPN on Monday. "I know it's a big story, but from my standpoint, this guy is one of the best hitters to ever play the game. On any given night, the whole narrative gets rewritten."
#aaronjudge #nyyankees #worldseries #baseball #sports
The Chiefs are positioned to dominate the NFL's next decade
PATRICK MAHOMES SAT across from Tom Brady and stared into the face of his future. Their one-on-one interview for Fox's Sunday NFL show took place within the strange setting of a hotel balcony -- Brady wasn't allowed in the pregame production meeting for Week 7's Chiefs-49ers matchup because he's a minority owner of the Raiders -- but the common ground they shared was undeniable.
#chiefs #patrickmahomes #nfl #sports
Paolo Banchero nets 50, including Magic-record 37 in 1st half
Paolo Banchero had the best night of his career Monday.
Banchero tied the Orlando Magic record for points in a half, scoring 37 in the first two quarters against the Indiana Pacers. He finished with a career-high 50 points -- tying the fifth-highest scoring effort in Magic history. Orlando won 119-115.
"Man, I'm tired; I'm tired as hell," Banchero said after the first 50-point effort in the NBA this season. "But it was a hell of a game."
#nba #sports #paolobanchero #magic
Veteran Rudy Gay announces retirement after 17 NBA seasons
#rudygay #nba #retirement #sports
Dwyane Wade defends look of new statue amid hail of jokes

Freddie Freeman homers in 5th straight World Series game
Told he had tied a World Series record by homering in five straight games, Freddie Freeman grinned.
"Let's hopefully make it six," he said.
Freeman put the Los Angeles Dodgers ahead 15 pitches into the game with a two-run homer off Clarke Schmidt, and L.A. beat the New York Yankees 4-2 on Monday night to take a 3-0 World Series lead.
#dodgers #worldseries #homerun #freddiefreeman #sports #mlbs
Royals catcher Salvador Perez wins Roberto Clemente Award
Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez won the Roberto Clemente Award, Major League Baseball's prestigious honor awarded annually to the player whose humanitarian efforts exemplify off-the-field service.
The 34-year-old, who has spent all 13 years of his major league career with Kansas City, is the first Royals player to win the award and was lauded for his generosity not only in his adopted hometown but in Valencia, Venezuela, where Perez grew up, and Colombia, where his contributions honor a minor league pitcher who died of cancer.
#mlb #sports #salvadorperez
What is the Roberto Clemente Award?
The Roberto Clemente Award is bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of Baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
Every year, each MLB Club nominates a player to be considered for the Award in tribute to Clemente's achievements and character. This year's list of nominees features players whose various community and philanthropic activities have focused on important issues ranging from awareness and fundraising to support those with cancer and other illnesses or special needs, education for young people, natural disaster relief, outreach to underserved children and communities in the United States and abroad, and more.
World Series averaging 15.15M viewers in Japan
The World Series is averaging 15.15 million viewers in Japan through two games. According to Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers' 4-2 victory over the New York Yankees in Game 2 averaged 15.9 million, making it the most-watched MLB postseason game in the nation's history.
Besides the allure of superstar and presumptive NL MVP Shohei Ohtani, the game had Yoshinobu Yamamoto as the Dodgers' starting pitcher.
#japan #worldseries #mlb #sports
World Series: Dodgers eye sweep with, yes, a bullpen game
#dodgers #worldseries #mlb #sports
The Dodgers' Game 4 starter? In the aftermath of Game 3, the answer to that question remained: Relief pitcher TBD. But we do know it's going to be a bullpen game to perhaps win the World Series.
"That would be fun, obviously, to go out and contribute something like that," Dodgers reliever Daniel Hudson said. "I'm not sure what we're going to do, but we'll go out there and get three, four or five outs and get the ball to the next guy."
Ex-Knick Jerrod Mustaf, who left NBA after pregnant girlfriend's murder, dead at 55

The Knicks drafted Mustaf with the 17th pick in the 1990 NBA Draft following a strong collegiate career with Maryland.
Signs of growing Giants tension between Daniel Jones, Brian Daboll
Do you detect growing friction between Brian Daboll and Daniel Jones? There is no doubt there is growing frustration.
They came, they saw, they lost.
Chalk up another one for the Giants, who provide weekly doses of frustration to a fan base that by now has come to anticipate failure and come to expect that what can go wrong will go wrong.
#nygiants #nfl #danieljones #sports
This one was close and contested but ultimately more of the same. The Giants never took a lead on Monday night, trading field goals in the first half and then did things to ensure they would not pull the upset against the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. They allowed a 73-yard punt return and turned the ball over twice in the final three minutes. There is no margin for error for this team and the result was a 26-18 loss that drops the Giants to 2-6 for the second consecutive season.
Four players Giants should look to deal at NFL trade deadline
Darius Slayton, Azeez Ojulari, Evan Neal and Devin Singletary are all options for the Giants to trade away.
When you heard Giants owner John Mara say that he is not planning to make any changes at head coach and general manager, Joe Schoen probably heard an OK to be a trade-deadline seller.
Mara’s recent vow to be more patient than he has been in the past takes some pressure off of Schoen to act out of self-preservation.
#nygiants #nfl #football #sports
It is shortsighted to keep impactful players in hopes of squeezing out an extra meaningless win or two to show enough “improvement” that it bolsters job security.
The Giants are 2-6 (or worse) at the midway point for the seventh time in eight seasons. None of the prior six resulted in more than six wins.
Stephanie White leaves Sun amid link to being Caitlin Clark's next coach with Fever
She’s leaving the Connecticut Sun as rumors swirl about her potentially becoming Caitlin Clark’s next coach.
Stephanie White is out as coach of the Connecticut Sun, potentially setting the stage for her to take over the job in Indiana.
#wnba #sports #caitlinclark #indiana
Expect St. John's to soar to new heights in Rick Pitino Year 2 for one big reason
Look, it’s entirely possible that this is just a statistical quirk that may have no bases in modern times.
Look, it’s entirely possible that this is just a statistical quirk that may have no bases in modern times. College basketball is an entirely different entity than it was even three years ago, let alone 30.
Still, it’s happened a lot.
Too often to just write off as an anomaly.
#ncaa #rickpitino #stjohns
So here goes:
St. John's gets exactly what it wants from defense, bench in final tune-up
While the final score seemed somewhat inconsequential, Rick Pitino has been prioritizing defense heading into the 2024-25 season.
#ncaa #baskeball #stjohns #sports
St. John's Aaron Scott already feeling 'locked in' amid new surroundings
#stjohns #ncaa #basketball #college

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy says Trevon Diggs has to be 'better' after heated reporter confrontation
#cowboys #nfl #trevondiggs #sports
Cristiano Ronaldo’s nickname for Ruben Amorim emerges and it’s telling about his character
Cristiano Ronaldo's description of Ruben Amorim will have Manchester United fans giddy with glee ahead of the latter's looming arrival.
talkSPORT understands the Red Devils have agreed a £8.3million fee with Sporting to prise Amorim out of his contract.

Joe Rogan discusses game-changing Dana White boxing rumour with Donald Trump
Joe Rogan has claimed Dana White is close to promoting in boxing when discussing the sport with Donald Trump.

The host said during his chat with the former president: "Dana is working with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
"They’re going to start promoting boxing now, and with Dana at the helm, I think boxing can return.
"The thing is, they want to make fights that other promoters maybe don’t want to make because they want to protect their fighter.
“Controversial fights where it’s dangerous, like you don’t know if this guy could lose.

"James had everything: he had offence, he had defence, he had movement, he had everything.
Can the Yankees Make a Comeback? AI Makes the World Series Call
We built a generative AI model to read baseball stats and predict this year's Yankees-Dodgers World Series matchup.
Numbers never tell the whole story in baseball. But they tell enough of it—we think.
Armed with little more than a penchant for AI and a stack of baseball stats, we created a chatbot that would predict the World Series outcome.

Flamengo

It's supposed to be a peer-to-peer electronic cash system.
Stop waiting for institutions and giant corporations to let you use your "freedom money".
Use it peer-to-peer now. 🧍⚡️🧍

🧵/1 My Hive journey has been a wild ride of highs and lows, but one thing's for sure it's been a blessing to my life. From rough patches to smooth sailing, Hive has been a constant source of happiness. I remember when I was facing a financial blackout and needed funds to boost my business. With Hive, I found a lifeline. I used my HBD savings to fund my business and it was a huge relief.

🧵/2 One of the biggest misconceptions about Hive is that it's just an "earn-and-withdraw" platform. Not true! Hive emphasizes long-term investment and wealth creation. Many of my friends on Hive invest in multiple coins and reap the rewards in the long run. I've been fortunate enough to experience the benefits of long-term investment on Hive. My portfolio has grown steadily over time, and I'm not alone. Many Hive users have seen similar results. The future is bright for those who invest wisely.
🧵/3 Hive has been a blessing to me and many others. It's a platform that offers financial stability, long-term growth, and a supportive community. If you're looking for a platform to grow your wealth, look no further than Hive. Read more about this post by clicking the link below.

I wouldn't call that awesome... they might be up to no good 😉

They have been stealing for a century or so. Nobody going to collect very successfully from them though. 👀
It's tough to collect from people who own your security force.
When old JP bailed out the government, I wonder if he knew how far that was going to take him. 😈
That's an interesting question.
It was expected whether those people like it or not. Now the true fun begins, let me get some popcorn and see the movie. 😆
Had no idea about this. I'd Google it.
