Today, we will have an easy question in our Liotes mission... So, we know that YOU know crypto and you like it as you are creating posts here on HIVE earning it, but... Does your friends IRL (in the real-life) use crypto, too? Did you onboard them to Hive? Did they listen, or they are waiting to see you in your Lambo? 😃
From my personal experience (@ph1102), most of my close friends aren't in crypto... I started with ETH mining in 2016 along with my friend, and that's it... All my other friends were standing on the sidelines all the time... Lately, they are showing some interest, but are still on the sidelines... We will see what will happen after the next crypto bull run...

None of my friends are into crypto. My brother joined Hive to play splinterlands and now does a post or two per week. Take care.
That's great! I hope he will be successful here! It's great to have someone with whom you can share your thoughts...

Most of my friends are not into crypto, because there has been so much negative impact by the government on crypto trading and banks are penalized for any transactions involving crypto. I started crypto early this year and I want to use my success and experience as a yardstick for marketing crypto to them eventually. For now, I have so much to learn.
That was an eye-opener for some people, and everyone should look back like you did and compare what changed... Who are you listening to when you make choices? Crypto didn't change at all, but the MSM narrative changed... Governments and banks are "protecting" people... Yeah, right...
Thanks.

Haha... My IRL friends are divided into 3 main categories:
^They are more interested in stocks and property
^Ever lookout, FOMO, and loss a few money.
I have around 5 friends who are playing crypto and I ever invited them to join the hive community. But, they are still into BSC and ETH rather than others 😴
My Lil bro had ever joined the hive community for splinterlands but he is more interested in the WAX community. 🤣
Well, you aren't doing that bad at all... You have created ETH/BSC maxis and lost your brother to WAX... 😃 But, hey... They are still in crypto! That counts!

I started my crypto journey in 2019 - I recalled back then BTC was USD 13000 and ETH was USD 300. Back then my friends were very skeptical, but when BTC shot up later on, more of them joined in to buy in 2020 and 2021. I am optimistic there's still a long way for cryptos to go from current levels. :)
It looks like you are in the minority as your friends actually, listen to you... OK, not in the beginning, but still, they are onboard! As I can see from the rest of the comments, that's usually not the case...
Interesting... Congrats on having your friends with you!

Thank you!
My daughter has opened a Hive account and deposited a bit into it, but does not actively use the account. I have delegated some of her holdings and am starting to move her earnings into her HBD Savings. My wife is not interested (she calls it my "Monopoly Money"). I talked to one fellow employee about two years ago that had invested a little bit in crypto, but when there was a dip, I think he took his loses and got out. Other than that, nobody I have brought up crypto with seems the least bit interested.
I have a feeling that all people that you have mentioned will come back to crypto soon... Not because they want to, or like to, but more because it will be a NEED...

I have a couple close family members in crypto. I have a couple friends that dabble as well. As far as getting them on Hive, it's something that I've discussed. My older brother was on Steemit for a while but has not come back to Hive yet.
That's awesome! The only family member that I have onboarded is my wife... lol... Even my son didn't listen and refused to play SPlinterlands... hehehe... Others, zero interest... :)

It's an interesting question. In fact, my closest friends don't understand it at all and, although I've had some explanations on the subject, they're still not interested. Two of my colleagues, of course, we are also friends, trade quite successfully on the crypto exchanges. Also, the latest acquisition - one of my colleagues, he decided to write a blog in Hive and he is very successful. He's been very successful with his travel posts, and I've never made as much money as he has with his posts... so... I can only congratulate him... but I obviously have to try harder... 🍻🍺 😎 !BEER
Yeah, people sometimes do listen, and want to know more, but they very hard take action and actually get involved...
Congrats to your other friend on HIVE! I have a similar situation with my wife... She earns more than me on her blog posts, and I have introduced her to Hive... 😀

I am pretty sure my friends are mostly watching me. They will follow only when they either feel "safe" or when they see that the existing order is no more "safe" than crypto.
I am used to it. I was an early adopter of homeschooling, for example. Many of my friends followed after they watched my family for a few years. !BEER
Agree with you... Most of our friends are lurkers... 😃 It's a pity that they didn't listen at the beginning, but it's still ok that they are at least lurking... They will join sooner or later... :)

A friend of mine was already investing in crypto for a few years. Last year I started myself. I enjoy it and spend time learning more and more about crypto. I am even in a small investing group now 😎
WooHoo! So, you were "that" friend that listened and came to the crypto? :) Now, it's your turn to bring someone else to crypto... :)

I don't have friends for now who are interested in joining this world, whenever I talk to them about cryptocurrencies they mention that they are interested but they don't take the step of acting, the closest thing I saw to my friends in this world was playing Axie Infinity which is a I play Blockchain, but nothing else and I have tried to convince them to enter Hive but they still do not clearly see the great future behind cryptocurrencies.
This is crucial, and that is reality! Most the people don't take ACTION on important information that they get... You are not alone, and I saw that million times... They will come... Sooner or later... We have done our job and showed them on time.... the rest is on them...

I've gotten a few people in but the farthest they've gone is Bitcoin and Ethereum. Nobody wants to take the plunge on any alts. Truth be told, I'm certainly not going to force them. They know I'm involved with lots of things if they have any questions but...so far nobody has wanted to get in any deeper.

I suppose that problem with people that don't go farther than BTC and ETH is their misunderstanding of crypto in general... As it's hard to EARN BTC and ETH, they think that crypto HAS to be a money investment... Which isn't true at all!

I’m the only one I know personally in crypto. It’s tough to try and get people involved since it is so heavily taxed in the US. I’m hoping the laws will loosen up some in the next year or two though.
I suppose that laws will become more "clear" about crypto and taxes, as I think that both sides use this situation... And probably both sides in negative connotation... :)

I can count two... that I know of. An old friend from my childhood, we ran into each other before the pandemic and he was in crypto at the surface level. Another one is my brother-in-low, who probably joined because of me, but he is not very involved. He's more interested in real estate and stuff like that.
I'm not doing much better than you... I suppose that % of people in crypto shows % of people who think... It sounds cruel, but in another comment here @gratitudemine mentioned the "bad image of crypto" that was poisoning people (and still does)... Not everyone failed on that narrative...

As much trouble as I have had getting information concerning taxes, I will not recommend it. So no I don't share any crypto information with my friends or family.
That's an interesting point of view... So you think that crypto isn't worth it?
Thanks for the comment!

None of my friends are interested, it's all funny money for them. As it all computations nothing tangible.
It's always the same story... When someone close to you gives you a great info, we don't believe it... and then we heard the same thing on a TV, and FOMO into it... but, it's game over in that moment... ;)

Almost everybody I know are not into crypto.
Most of the people I know Don't trust it because of the MSM.
I just try to share about it when I can
Yeah, I agree... When someone is under the MSM influence, there is almost no sense to waste time... Usually, those are years and years of brainwashing through a TV and other media...

My friends are definitely waiting to see my in a Lamborghini... though it will probably never happen, I prefer the large excavator and a bulldozer. It's for the homestead you know!
I have on boarded a couple of them, but none have kept their accounts active!
Hehehe... That should do the work and create more attention among your friends... You should park it in front of their houses... 😀
I had a similar experience with two of my friends... I don't know what they have expected that will happen when they have an account and so nothing... Money will lend there magically? 😀
It does take a while to make something out of Hive. But it's possible!

You got them by replying to our Liotes Mission post, but you can get more by delegating HP to our @liotes.voter account, buying and staking our LENM (miner)...
OK thanks! Also, do you have a link for me so that I can read more about it?
My friends do not pay much attention to me about crypto, it will be because I explain the benefits and risks. But they just want to hear something where they win big and it's safe.
I doubt that it's problem with you and your explanation of the pros and cons... Even if there will be no risks, they will not step in as there is work involved... and persistence is a key... Most people don't have that...
yeah, some people are afraid of losing money in crypto. Even in my country, there was a big hot post about a mother who invested around $700 and it becomes $200+ in a day and asked DOGE to give back her money. 😅 Well, if they want to win big then high risk will go to them... High risk, High reward. No research and we'll die in the crypto world. 😜

My friends don't really do crypto but I guess they aren't opposed to buying some just to hold. I find it kind of hard to push them and I don't really bring things up like that much either.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I'm also against "convincing" people in anything... They have eyes and they have seen... When they are ready, they will come and ask... At that moment, I will be more than happy to answer all their questions...
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yea convincing people tend to make them a little less confident in their decision. Whenever they make up their own minds, they tend to be more resolute.

Most of my friends stay on the sidelines. For some reason, they can't see the potential of blockchain tech and since they don't see me make 1M$ in a week, they're not interested 🤣 🤣
Funny thing is they probably all gonna be mad at me if I actually make 1M$ in a few years 😂
... but in those moments... it will be too late... and you can just rub it in their face... I TOLD YOU SO! 😅

No, I don't know anybody else in my offline world who is into crypto. I have shown Splinterlands to one friend who's into Yugioh but nothing has come of it. Another friend is "interested" but not made the move... and so on!
I do not actively engage my friends on this topic anyway, but mention what I do if it is relevant to the conversation.

It looks that a lot of people stay passive in their own bubbles... But, it's always like that... When we are pushed toward the wall, then we react... and usually, it's too late then...

I only got started in crypto on the pre-Hive blockchain (it shall remain nameless) and tried to get several of my friends onboard. After years of mentioning Hive I finally got a friend to join, but so far he has only gone into the game dCity and hasn’t done any posting. He rarely comes to even work on his game.
Huh... It's a pity that he picked just ONE game... If he went with Splinterlands or Rising Star, he would probably still play...
I came to the "past blockchain" because of Splinterlands, and stayed because of people... :)
4 credits added
No, they are not. I know of only one person who is active in crypto. Most of the people I know are still under the observation stage. I onboarded 6 people on Hive, but their accounts are still inactive.
The world is full of lurkers and observers... That's why most of them are just watching the play, and not acting in it...

No friends using crypto that I know of. I have just started and am still on the fence separating the good from the bad ones.

No, I've tried to get them interested in some projects in the past, but none of them have really been interested in getting into any crypto related things :/ Ah well, hopefully I'll get that lambo to show off, lol.
That could help with "friends onboarding".... hahahah... Onboarding on Lambo, and onboarding to crypto! :)

I recently found out my brother is also into crypto. We don't discuss financial matters :p I do not know of any friends who are into crypto, but I did manage to introduce a friend to noise.cash and $BCH. That site was easier to explain to a mainstream person who likes posting on FB, IG, & Twitter. She complains a lot about prices going down :( !LOL
Aside from my daughter, I have yet to bring in anyone to Hive.
!ALIVE is always a reason to celebrate
I bet it was a nice surprise when you found out that you are not alone in your family! :)
Well, having a friend on noise.cash, and your daughter, you are one of the best "friends performers" in the comment section of this post! Congratulations! :)

I have long attracted my friends to crypto - most of them play Splinterlands and exchange their winnings for bitcoins, and some blog on Noise.cash and the Russian-language counterpart of Hive - Golos.id.
That's awesome to hear that they have listened and come to the crypto world! You are in minority with so many friends in crypto...
Congrats!

I can't get any of my friends convinced that you can make money in crypto without risking a penny. My wife is even worse. She thinks everything to do with crypto is a scam. What's a poor boy to do?
hahahaha... It's frustrating and I believe you!...
😀
Maybe, you need to slap the money that you got in crypto to your wife later 😜
