Supposed one day Google decides to pull the plug on YouTube (or YouTube goes POOF! on its own)
What happens 2 #musiconleo project? It gets bricked.
We need to upload more content 2 3Speak/SPK Network
We need to upload more content 2 3Speak/SPK Network
Very true! However, there would arise an issue with monetizing someone else's content (in this case, music) if we're the ones uploading it to a new platform, as opposed to just linking it from elsewhere.
can someone explain music on Leo to me. I still don’t understand the point. If I know what it’s for maybe I’ll get on board
The idea is 2encourage every1 2do all their activity on InLeo. Why go 2 Spotify when we can get our music through LeoThreads? So #musiconleo is a project 2take advantage of Hive blockchain's nature as a database 4 this use case.
That is true. However, while there are still billions in ad money rolling in, I am not concerned.
But you are right, we need to start accessing other video databases i.e. what you mentioned.
Maybe the project needs 2account 4 redundancy & decentralization? A provider field can be ++ to database (YT, Vimeo, Rumble, 3Speak, etc.)
Maybe database needs 2B modified to include a field for provider (YT, Vimeo, Rumble, 3Speak, etc.)
Certainly anyone is free to set up whatever back up they want. Everything that is posted is being placed on chain. Hence, if someone wants to dive in, they are welcomed. It is just as easy to go through the feed and grab Vimeo videos.
I dont think Rumble allows for embedding that I could see (as a side note).
