RE: Our HIVE Mooning from News-Hype for Another 'HIVE' Company as 'Ultimate Meme Stock'

in LeoFinance4 years ago (edited)

I once wrote a post about the importance of managing traffic, meaning all these little side projects like the tribes/communities, games, everything, all the apps, seriously, everything; it should all lead back somehow to a central hub (not centralized! quit freaking out) like PeakD. Obviously someone screwed up with the Hive branding (I don't even name my artworks without researching names first), but when all roads lead back to Hive, one doesn't need to know about Hive in order to find out about it. Maybe they've stumbled into LEO or Hive Engine. Without a clear path to a central hub and the incredibly valuable social setting, those folks will never know about the rest of the things Hive has to offer. With several hundred or even thousands of sites built on Hive all leading to the rest of what's available on Hive, that's like placing hundreds or even thousands of links to Hive at the top of Google search.

This post of yours is just a few lines, an opinion, short on wisdom, and lacking a solution. I'm only downvoting it because there's no fucking way I'd pay $147 for that. It's a lighthearted downvote.

You're going to have to stop measuring in USD soon.

This is a post on LEO. If someone searched HIVE, they might miraculously stumble into this post on LEO that makes it appear as if Hive is some big mistake and LEO is the competition mocking it, but at least Hive is better than Steem. That's the big takeaway?

And all you can focus on is me measuring something? I'm well aware there's a massive difference between face value and true value.

Well I went all over the place trying to touch on things that related. Hive going up, but it's going to go down some amount as pumps always do... and the hive pumping more than steem is more reality based since hive has more going on than steem to merit it ;) What 'takeaway' would you have stated instead?

Did you know there are thousands upon thousands of posts talking about whatever coin going up?

I'm just razzing you.

Nobody is going to find this post. Don't worry about what I think. Streisand effect incoming.

My focus is on abundance and interoperability.

These systems are alive.
Corrections will be made.

And my focus is making a big stink over nothing because it was easy and I was bored.

Yes, a one-stop-shop for accessing the info is valuable. Facebook had that appeal, pp sharing stuff and you can see it all to get convenient access to lots of stuff you might be interested in.

The Hive name seems to have been a bit hasty, but oh well.

Well a few lines, there's more than a few lol. Wisdom, do most posts on trending have wisdom? Opinion indeed, I wasn't trying to be wise. Is there a need for a solution? What's the problem again? Would anyone really pay $1 for one piece of written content on Hive, Steem or any other website? Maybe a subscription where what you read costs you a few cents on average, depending on how often you read it. It's almost all overvalued when you think about how much you would be willing to pay from your pocket. But I getcha ;)

Don't worry. I'm being super opinionated right now. It's good you understand where I'm coming from and I'm sure many others do as well.

Don't sell yourself short though. You're basically saying your product is worthless, as well as all the other products. Just because we don't see the dollar signs beside content found all over the web, that does not mean it's not generating any value. I'm actually happy a shit post like yours makes this much. That means the posts that are ten times better and offer more to the consumer can also be worth that much, or more. What that does is attract higher caliber acts that will put us all to shame and what they do is attract the money you think doesn't exist.

Probably worth mentioning there's no rule that says one must wait until someone better comes along before it's time to up the ante and give consumers a reason to consume and spend money.

someone screwed up????

I was between a group of few people who said this was wrong since the beginning. I mean, come on, you don’t need to be a branding mogul to not do a google search before, and If you see the .com is taken, forget that name and start over.

There are applications that scout all the web for the name, I mean... it’s not for a lack of tools.

Anyways, I love Hive and all but whoever came up with the idea of the name, refuted comments like mine or @edje’s when this issue was pointed out, could have considered to change, or at least to ask the community which name we wanted.

Anyways, rant off.

Sometimes the simple act of giving a shit can be one of the hardest and least rewarding behaviors. Offer a suggestion; it's converted into an insult.

Excuse me? You're about to get hit by a bus. "Don't tell me where and how to walk!" Splat.

You sir, have said it loud and clear.

I hope you are doing good.

Cheers

Doing well enough and I hope the same for you.
