It is 2023 and there are still people who think that crypto does not have any utility. I am sorry I cannot have argument with such a person.
Even for the simple fact that it is something people can speculate on gives it utility
Utility simply means being useful. It is not a strange or complex subject.
Is crypto useful to me? Yes.
I'm not sure if consider the fact that people can speculate on it a utility. It has to be useful for other things.
$BTC barely has any utility in my mind, and I'm ok with that.

The gambling industry is a speculative and it runs into trillions of dollars. People buy stocks for speculative reason. These are intangible and they are assigned value based on what's general agreed upon (the same applies to fiat--it has not value of its own). One million dollar in the desert has no value if no one wants to exchange it for food or drink.
Value and utility can be subjective things.
Anything can B used 4 speculation. We C that w/ USD, precious metals, commodities, even sundries. These items also have utility. D trick is N finding new uses 4 old things. Viagra began as heart medication; U know what happened after that.
I wonder what new uses they'll find for Bitcoin.
