I've been cross posting to Publish OX for the last month, as an experiment to see how much I can earn in comparison to Hive and LEO.
I didn't earn very much in the last month, especially not compared to what I earn on Leo and Hive, but the experience has been generally positive - I've found a few decent articles to read for example and had some reasonable engagement in the form of comments and responses.
What is PublishOX ?
In case you've never heard of it, it's simply a blogging platform where you can create a series of blogs and then post to those blogs.
You get rewarded in four different cryptos - ETH/ BAT/ Loopring/ and recently AMPLE.
You also earn for voting and you can set your share of the reward for a vote from 20% to 80% of what you give the author - you are limited to the number of votes you can give daily.
If you'd like to sign up and pump my bags - here's a referral link.
My Personal Experiment
I made a point to post once a day for month, from October 25th to November 24th.
I chose to cross post articles that I'd already written from the last month on Hive/ Leo, selecting only posts of a reasonable quality - typically on the following three themes:
- Crypto
- Early retirement
- Splinterlands.
As well as posting, I also took the opportunity to chuck out a few upvotes, as you get rewarded for voting too.
And it is with great fanfare that I announce my monthly rewards for posting have come in at a grand total of.....
$2.95
So what's that - $0.001 per view, or 1/10th of a cent per view - harsh!
Of course that's not even from the 30 posts I put up in October - November, that includes any earnings I may have made of posts prior to that.
The highest pay out
I earned $1.06 for 'What Crypto Should I Buy' - A look at what Google says I should I buy. Note that I earned over 70 LEO for this, so 35 times $0.25 is errr... about $8, so eight times more on LEO, and that's not counting the Hive I earned on it too.
The biggest flop
There are SO many to choose from - so many that earned less than $0.05, but my own personal reward for the biggest fail goes to 'How I earn a Living through Blogging' - for the pure and utter irony of it receiving so little attention on a blogging platform.
I earned $0.02 for that post, which is at least 100 times less what I earned for it on Hive.
Heads up - I do actually earn a living from blogging, that's not including Hive and LEO, I just do this for fun in the evenings.
I would have least expected some kind of comment, but nothing, absolutely nothing from the whole of the lack of Publish Ox community.
Publish OX - not an entirely negative experience
Besides the utterly dreadfully dismal earning potential my experience wasn't entirely negative - I did get some sensible comments, and I found a few good articles worth reading too, and posting to the Platform was easy enough.
one advantage over LEO/ HIVE is that I can still earn on posts even several months or years after they've been published - there's no payout window, which I like.
Publishing to PublishOX - is it worth it?
Most definitely NOT for me at this moment in time - so little reward in a month makes it non viable, so I'm simply going to use it as a platform to publish my Splinterlands Challenge posts to and to shill LEO - people really should come over here, it's far more profitable and the engagement is better!

Earnings are shit for me too but what keeps me going there is that something like below happens time to time.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yes fair point!
PublsihOx is what get me started on my crypto blogging. I haven't done much over there since I discovered LeoFinance. I still try and cross post but I don't ever make much more than a quarter for a post.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I'm sure I came across you over there, so certainly something positive came out of using the platform!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
For sure. :)

It has been exactly 1 year ago since I started publishing my post also on Publish0x and my overall earnings have added up to over 300$ getting over 1000 followers in the process. It does take some time and effort to get some following there and pageviews also seem to be directly linked to earnings. Some people seem to be posting links to publish0x articles on reddit which all tend to get 1000+ views and much better earnings.
The way I see it, the main difference between Publish0x and Leo is that when someone who wants to just read about crypto visits these sites, Publixh0x actually has something to offer and also allows readers to earn some micro earnings just by reading and tipping without investment while Leofinance is, let's be honest, a complete joke when it comes down to content on the main page as all the top posts are just about LEO or Hive itself since those get the most upvotes. Nobody in the real world is really interested in those.
In my view, LEO can learn a lot from Publish0x even though when it comes down to earnings, LEO is way better for most right now.
Fair comment, I have noticed that Crypto posts seem to do VERY well on Publish OX!
Good that you're earning a pretty decent amount over there.
There is some good stuff there.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I really wonder why it worked so good for me - my first article has more than 10$ payout and basically, all but maybe 4 or 5 of my articles made it to Popular ever since I started blogging there. I'd love to know the difference, as I struggle a lot more on Leo than I do on Publish0x.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
That's a good question. It must have something to do with finding the right niche - your content is definitely worth it!
Good to hear the counter view, but the fact that we don't know how you make it on Publish0X is a bit annoying!
This place is far from perfect of course!
Use whatever works I say, some 'who voted for me' analytics would be nice too on Publish OX.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
My main issue with Publish0x is that it is not really scalable. While I get thousands for views with most articles, I still only make 2$-3$ which is nice, but no way near what you can make on LeoFinance.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Have a read through of fkynmaym's views on the comments to this article - we should both be counting ourselves lucky!
The normal model for blogging is to post for free and use that to sell your premium products!
Earning anything for just writing - that's pretty amazing!

My name is Khal and I approve this message ;)

So the earnings/view are around 3x traditional advertising earnings without needing to generate traffic and also without having built a network on p0x? More so even, with already elsewhere published content so absolutely zero effort.
Sounds relatively decent to me.
Is that what it is, 3 times ad earnings>?
Looked at that way it's not too bad!
Mind you it's still well below minimum wage even just by cutting pasting across!
My gut feeling is that rather than spending all that time cross posting, just write another couple of decent articles a year!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
How hard do you think is it for people to make $5 from their own blog? That's even not accounting for expenses they run.
Even just getting 3k views in a month is a challenge many never achieve.
Even if it's only $3, earned in your first 30 days with a new "blog", that's revolutionary. In the past there have been few platforms who shared revenue with authors... Where are they now? #RIP
For someone who hasn't been multiple years on a platform, most often is inexperienced in traffic building, and has as comparison only a self-hosted platform $3 from self-plagiarism is fkn amazing.
That said, Hive is the better earning platform for those who have invested time in building their network but comparisons are not fair. Most people get 0.02 at best, pre-curation split, after their first two posts. What we make on our posts, after 3 years of activity on the platform and knowing how everything works, is NOT the experience of new members. Hive will outperform p0x for newcomers... if you know about #introduceyourself and #gems/ocd/communities. If not... good luck making even $3.
Yes fair points all.
I could only write from my personal experience, I don't have access to the data to make like for like comparisons.
The reason I don't generally shill Hive as an earnings platform is that I know what it's like being new hear - you're certainly not looking at $10 a post!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I don't think most people are looking for $10/post. That's already semi-professional rate. If you look at freelance platforms you can find top notch quality for $15 already, and that's with a middleman and also PayPal. Those would be among the top percentile of authors on Hive quality-wise.
Currently, those aiming for more have multiple years of mileage already and a portfolio with previous publications in MSM. And, they are all being sacked and totally happy for Substack currently. But, often, that's also yet another level of quality again. And, of course, they need to build their newsletter up too. No visitors, no subs. Enjoy whoring yourself out on FB, IG, and Twitter.
And, the more people try out Substack, the more will be disappointed about their earnings because many won't get 10 subs for months.
I've never heard of Substack.
I am painfully aware that blogging earnings aren't sustainable, this is why I'm a little obsessed with buying some land and getting my cost of living down!

Here is my stats and I don't write about crypto.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I tried it and was disappointed. We can't expect an instant audience, it's the same as if they came here. I can't be arsed doing it all again, so have jacked it.
Maybe that's it - there is something to be said for just committing to one place!
Perhaps we should just start spamming Splintertalk - actually I did see a great post about why you should buy a Frost Lion earlier today and did exactly that - the cheapest Dice card - the kind of thing I think you'd appreciate!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I have not looked at those Dice cards yet, I guess I should. It may rejuvenate my interest a little.
You can simply cross post and the more you get on the trending page, the more followers you get and your rewards will increase over time. That's what I noticed after one year or using Publish0x.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Think I just gave you an upvote through LEO which is worth more than what you got for your "How I earn a living post" on PublishOX haha! I only heard a little about that site, I used to be able to cross post to a few crypto sites via some other services but those closed down unsurprisingly!
Definitely enjoying being on Leo when I can!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Some kind of cross posting app would be great I think, although TBH I'm quite relieved to be done with all the micro-tasks - cross posting for example, much better off just on here.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yeah I know that one! Tried the cross-posting and those micro-tasks do add up and when you look back like you have done, you wonder why you did it in the first place! All in the name of financial science!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Et Tu Brute? :)
Guilty of crossposting :)
They don't mind it - according to their T and Cs!
Your earnings rate per view is worse than mine!
But at least you're getting more views!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I don't know the formula behind it. Ar likes more valuable than the views? It looks like.
I guess I am receiving likes from a small circle of friends.
AMPL tips are welcome too :)
Same here :)

It takes time to build up an audience. I have more than a year and just about 650 followers. My posts earn something like 30 cents per post and once in a while I get $1 or $2. Don't quit, gradually you will do better and it's really worth cross posting Hive/Leo content over there. If I could cross post my content from here to 10 other sites I would do that. The more the better.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Could someone explain me what leo is? And by my experience, I actually was atleast able to get something on Publish0x. However, I've been trying to blog on hive and steemit but nobody really reads and upvotes any of my posts here. So I just kept blogging on Publish0x. Maybe Leo is better but IDK what that is.
Leo is build on Hive
If you want to post through LEO you can log in with your Hive user name keys here:
https://leofinance.io/
It works the same as Hive, but it's a nicer interface.
It takes a long time to get established here in fairness - you need to engage and post consistently for months before you see a decent return, typically.
But eventually the returns should be better than for publish OX
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Maybe those posts will pay you more in the long run. The one week thing on Hive is a serious limitation. I've not seen much talk of changing that. I think we could earn for longer (a month) when it first started. Maybe other tokens will help with that.
I've not even looked at PublishOX as far as I know, but have heard it mentioned. It seems there is little to compare to Hive in terms of actually earning unless you are a big fish on Youtube or similar.
!BEER
Certainly for me Hive is a good earner, but I am 'in' and invested, and that counts for a lot!
Competition I think is maybe stiffer on Publish OX.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
It is! As long as you don't spend more than the minute required to cross post 😂
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
You can copypaste it directly. Images survive. Tables don't but that's a minor nuisance.
It's just the image and ticking those damn boxes, also clicking through, I doubt anyone could do the whole cut and paste operation in less than a minute!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I timed my last copy-post.
One minute forty.
Including centering two images, saving and selecting the thumbnail image, adding two links and four tags. And clicking four boxes :)
Yes, it's between a minute and a half and two minutes.
Phew,
Time for a coffee break I imagine, you've earned it!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Thanks!
My next post was 1:42. Then I had coffee and muffins :)
Have a great weekend!

@ervin-lemark denkt du hast ein Vote durch @investinthefutur verdient!
@ervin-lemark thinks you have earned a vote of @investinthefutur !
Even then it's below minimum wage....
1 times 30 (days) = 0.5 hour
$2.95 (my monthly earnings)/ 0.5 = $5.90 an hour.
I guess if crypto goes 4 times then you've got a reasonable hourly rate!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
And being realistic it takes at least 2 minutes a post! Ticking those damn 4 boxes!
Well, I spend plenty of "ded" time in front of a screen (due to my cuck job) so I don't mind :)
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
What are they paying you for?
:))
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
cuck wage
😀😁😂
