Why do all these Web 2.0 kids with decent # followers act like they know everything about Web 3.0 Social Media while they don't even have ONE single follower on the first Web 3 blockchain-powered Social Media platform? #threadStorm
Why do all these Web 2.0 kids with decent # followers act like they know everything about Web 3.0 Social Media while they don't even have ONE single follower on the first Web 3 blockchain-powered Social Media platform? #threadStorm
Because they are hypocrites. They care nothing about #web3 other leveraging the followers of it for money on their #web2 platforms.
It is best for people to start calling them out.
Totally agree! There's a lot of "popular" people that do this and just fuel #web2 instead of seeing the huge potential #web3 really does have to offer.
I couldn't agree more! Most of them don't even realize that "Twitter" is actually a microblogging platform. Unfortunate, the norm as how the next generation will refer microblogging to, is as Tweets/Twitter. Simply because they don't know what microblogging means. Glad that LeoFinance has opened up a stage. In the meantime; this is exactly why Web 2.0 platforms are scared of Hive and won't mention much about it.

Because they don’t know anything about true #web3
facts
Exactly!

Did I break it?
https://leofinance.io/threads/@rubencress/re-leothreads-myj31
vs
https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@rubencress/re-leothreads-myj31
This is what I did: I edited the thread (on LeoFinance), refreshed the link (content didn't change/seems the initial is baked in code?), and started a thread inside the first link.
What's worse....
The ones that do come to Hive (which is far and few in between) rarely, if ever, actually engage with the community.
#fakeinfluencers
Never practice what they preach...
the whole influencer thing makes my fucking skin crawl
lol amen to that!
They realize they have to start all over @ Web 3.0 and are addicted to the dopamine their followers at Web 2.0 generate for them. It can be hard and difficult to give up what you have worked for your entire existence.

Amazing right so simple yet effective lolIt's crazy how very little web2 followers mean anymore. #Web3 will be changing that aspect as well where you actully see the peoples content you're following!
#web2 followers aren't valuable. #web3 followers are valuable. crazy to think about
There is Web 3.0 and there is Hive Web 3.0. Everything is so transparent on our blockchain, it's hard to be a faker or someone you're not. All of our actions can be monitored, yet another difference is, is that our content/information isn't being monetized (sold), since we choose what to share ourselves, and we monetize our own content and information.

because that's the influencer mindset. fucking idiots mostly
XD

Because they are deluded by their influence in centralized, censorable, normie boards like Twitter or Reddit.
Btw, there's a #thread contest going on with 5k $LEO in prizes, it would be great if you join!

Couldn't agree more! I've read your blog posts about how you feel about Hive and how much it changed your perspective on Web 2.0 platforms. I feel exactly the same. Whenever I react to someone it is usually a full response, which often leads to dead conversations because the reply is too long. xD
OH? Thanks for letting me know and hitting me up @anomadsoul!

Do they even know #threads is live yet? Probably too busy trying to get more followers on their web 2.0
They probably haven't bothered to be part of Hive at all, otherwise they wouldn't be microblogging on Twitter ;)

1/20 Web 2.0 influencers know little about decentralized blockchains, most blockchain-enthusiasts think most decentralized blockchains are indeed decentralized. While most data relies on #AWS and CF, which is by far from decentralized.
2/20) This is a consequence of what happened after the 2018 boom. Many projects started to adopt and ab(use) keywords like #Decentralized, #Blockchain, #DeFi", #NFTs, and so on. This was misleading and surely giving people the wrong idea.
3/20) As news sites publish items which often only included the success part in their stories of these not-so "decentralized" blockchains, the masses who are too lazy to do their own research (#dyor).
4/20 For example, there was commotion going on about NFT marketplaces that just launched. "NFTs should be in your own wallets, and not sold on a centralized mp", hence the boom at people using and connecting their wallets on #OpenSea.
5/20 Not much later, OpenSea is guilty of #censoring NFTs by removing them from the interface on their #marketplace. This is anything but decentralized and a direct contradiction to what they "pretend" to be pursuing "Freedom and openness".
6/20 These #influencers pick up these kind of centralized news items, published by centralized pro web 2.0 websites. These publishers do understand what Web 3.0 is and how threatening it is for their current existence.
7/20 Because blockchain technology is so threatening towards the current controlled Web 2.0 world we are so used to, it is not crazy to think these institutions are deliberately spreading #fakenews or are steering towards the believable lie
