It is here on #LeoMarketTalk (specifically through @taskmaster4450le) where I learned that it is sometimes a good choice to split a single long comment into multiple short comments. 🤔 Sometimes, I like the article itself, the post author, the comments section, and the commenters, but many of the comments are "too long didn't read" for me just because they are too long. 😅
You are viewing a single comment's thread from:
That is a good point. Even in the comment section, people's attention span and desire to read is limited.
It is often easier to take a "twitter-approach" and break comments up.
A short paragraph and then another one.
Limit comments to maybe 150 characters or so.

It would be cool if the interface would show how many characters your comment has

Suggest it to khal or at least how many words.

Yes, and also the number of words your comment has. 😅
Good point. I think I might also start doing so from now on.

Thanks for your encouragement. 😀
I don't want to count the number of characters on each of my comments, so I might publish a comment addressing a single point with about 300 characters without counting, then just leave another comment. 🤔 I don't want to take time figuring out how long my comment is before publishing. 😅
Remember that you can also use markdown code in comments.
Including subheadings, dot points and page breaks also help readability.
Here's a quick Beginner's guide to markdown on Hive for reference.

Thanks for your suggestion. 🙂 I know about how to use Markdown in comments, but my concern is about the length of the comments (particularly the time needed to read those comments), not necessarily their readability. 😅
Ah yep, I get you now.
Either way you break them up should help :)
