Wordpress didn't get big from people trying to drag their friends to start a wordpress. It got big cause people shared their blogs with people who they thought would want to read them. Our incentive structure led to a brilliant ecosystem but it also led us to horrible outreach. Now we are finally learning.
wordpress was viable for the era it was launched. Now i don't think a platform like wordpress will do vey well because the shift has happened and people are gravitating towards short from content.
of course. But my point is, it wouldn’t have succeeded if everyone was trying to turn their friends into bloggers instead of readers. That’s why hive has failed at expanding. threads is a new shot because short form is for everyone
yeah i agree. most people here are not bloggers, they just want to earn doing something. there is a greater opportunity moving them towards things they care about or can do for money while those who genuinely care about content creator can thrive.
Every project has it learning and experimental phase. It's not bad to start on the basic not but it's necessary to improve to the best notes. So yes, we are moving up the ladders.
Wordpress is still a big player in the personal blog platform, and not only blog they also deal with website. Can we have customized website on Hive? It would be a good idea.
