Things are going to get very interesting over the next couple years.
Artificial intelligence is changing everything. At the same time, Web3 is going to continue to have a larger impact, especially as the two start to converge.
What we are witnessing is akin to pieces on a chessboard. Things are being moved around, often in ways that the unskilled eye misses.
In this article we will dive into how Web3 is going to greatly benefit from AI along with who will suffer.

AI Levels The Playing Field
We live in a world where extraction is commonplace. Many of the entities that are household names became that way by extracting value from others. This was mostly done through some type of control mechanism that came with size.
For this reason, industries sprung up around us that generated billions of dollars in revenue. There were protections in place simply due to the fact that entry was difficult. Basically, it all was permissioned.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the field of content. For a century, Hollywood was the control mechanism. Major studios controlled the creation of films and television shows along with their distribution. The Internet help to offset that somewhere, although the high quality content was still exclusive to those entities. After all, they had the money to pay for the talent and equipment to generate it.
AI is changing this.
What once required thousands of dollars is now available through generative AI. Consider the potential of something such as text-to-video. This alone offers the possibility that anyone with an idea can transform it a video.
The technology is a bit limited at the moment. However, this is not likely to be the case for long.
Blockchain And Tokenization Changes Everything
Another piece to the puzzle is what people involved with blockchain understand completely.
Blockchain](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/blockchain), coupled with tokens, have the ability to alter everything. Entirely new incentive models are possible. Ownership rights are being rewritten. We are essentially looking at something we have not seen since the introduction of the corporation a couple hundred years ago.
This means we are going to see new business models, ones that are more aligned with the stakeholders.
From a cost standpoint, start up are enhanced by the ability to store data in an relatively inexpensive fashion. The decentralized state of the databases also means the data will be available to contour the AI to whatever outcomes the company wants.
Decentralized computing is likely to explode over the next decade. This is one of the ways we are going to meet the growing needs.
Extraction From Hollywood
The value of Hollywood is enormous.
Here we are looking at a traditional industry that still generates massive revenue. While it is already encountering disruption, the value these entities hold is still massive.
This is all about to change.
AI is going to place the tools in the hands of millions of people around the world. What is likely to happen is an exponential increase in output takes place. When dealing with attention, this is going to result in even greater fragmentation.
Ultimately, I foresee the result being value pulled away from the centralized entities in this industry. This shift will result in more being pushed into Web3, something that will have the opposite effect. As the value there grows, we can see the flywheel kicking off.
Of course, this is not limited to just films or television shows. There are many industries that could face a similar challenge.
The reason why entertainment is prevalent in this discussions is two-fold. To start, there is already disruption taking place due to the Internet. YouTube is a massive force here. Secondly, the content is digital. When the physical component is eliminated, it is much easier to transform.
This is why the financial sector is also at great risk of disruption.
In the end, Web3 is going to provide the greatest advantage of all: it will allow content creators to have direct relationships with their audiences. This is something the traditional system did not allow.
Billions of dollars are at stake here. Hollywood is already feeling the pinch. It is only going to accelerate as Web3 platforms start to realize the power they wield.
AI is going to be an ally in this.

Nice article, I do believe AI's will change the world dramatically and what your saying lines up with that, I guess the time of market and entertainment manipulation has come to an end, much data will be around various, I just hope how to navigate them will faster and less strenuous, thanks for sharing.
I agree. I have seen different posts where they were saying that they don't know much about art, but with generative AI, they can make things they only imagined. Beginner and veteran programmers alike are using AI to help them with their coding. Web3 is empowering people. While initially it might seem that they are taking jobs, it is just a matter of time before people shift and focus to other important things.
It will take a while for the technology to filter through. However, look at some of what can be created today as compared to just a few years ago, and without much graphic design ability.
What will it be like in 2 years?
Yeah. Being able to create different versions of a single image (In Van Gogh style, or comics style, etc) in seconds is mind blowing. Creating video from just a few lines of text is even more impressive. I can easily see full length movies being made within a year or two.
I couldn't agree more and it's already changing things just as you mentioned. The centralized production companies will continue to feel the pinch more and more as projects are produced without needing their "blessing". AI will eventually be helping not only in writing but producing special effects at a much reduced cost. It's the future of entertainment, and those big studios should be very concerned.
There is so much wrong with the centralized production companies, i.e. Hollywood, that it is impossible for it to be drastically downsized.
California's high taxes have already started to destroy Hollywood. I've had family involved in the business for years and they all detest having to work with the big production companies. That's why I see things shaping up very differently in the coming years!
That certainly doesnt help. Of course, the fact they lost the monopoly on the distribution channel is of great concern also.
This is where the Internet started to crush the production companies.
Yeah, I agree. But I hope even though we have now an AI, we will still have common sense in everything too.
Artificial intelligence is very exciting, but it should be noted that everything has two sides. Both good and bad! We are talking about good things, but we don't say anything about the fact that it takes the lives of thousands of people. I think we should also focus on accountability. We should be a community...
The next wave of PCs will also wield greater processor power with AI computational tools at their very heart. You can already build your own LLMs, so can imagine that this will explode in growth before too long
sharing is caring
The convergence of AI and Web3 is poised to revolutionize industries, redistributing value and empowering creators worldwide. Exciting times ahead!
i do feel the same that ai is going to have a huge impact and i think its growing much faster than what is being reported. I mean look at how quick videos, images etc can be created with ai. We are only seeing a glimpse of what is possible
