Elon Musk is changing Twitter. Actually, it is no longer that. It is now "X" which stands for Everything App.
Is this a good move and what does it mean?

4/ Twitter was flatlining long before Musk got there. Those who were tweeting were; those who were not most likely would not start. This means user growth was going to be non existent.
I can definitely agree on this point. I was using Quacker (an open source app available on F-Droid) when I wanted to check some Tweets. I never had any interest in Twitter. I was a burden on Twitter's expenses.
This is true. Twitter was struggling but would this name change will lost the whatever credibility( in lack of a better word) the platform has. It looks flimsy now.
3/ Musk seems to understand the concept of merging social media and finance. He wasnt to make his platform the largest in the world. This is not based upon social media but finance.
This could be the reason. Not sure if he will succeed in creating this everything app that does everything for you that you need irl.
2/ From a market brand standpoint, the name makes little sense. That said, the key is to have people remember you. After all, did people know what a google was a quarter century ago?
Isn't 'X'( 1 syllable ) Plenty easy to remember? That being said, I'm not sure that every branch of the everything app should be labelled under one name without individual identifying ones. Of course, we don't know the full plan either.
Of course. I don't use Twitter and probably won't no matter what he does.
I do not think the name makes sense. I could be wrong as he managed himself to generate more hype with what he does.
5/ Finance opens up a new realm. PayPal is still worth almost double what Musk paid for Twitter. This is what a payment system does. The value is much higher.
