It might be very risky if they don't reinvest into other businesses. This is because there's a time to bull and another time to bear. The bull time is very sweet and the bear times are very bitter. My advise is total diversification of income during bull time or else they'll be looking for the same jobs even they're broke. I maybe wrong or right in my analysis.

This movements from their jobs to the crypto world of freedom, creates an opportunity for immigrants to easily get jobs in the US. One man's food is another man's poison.

This is what many people would have done with stocks, but the stock market is rigged to favor large participants. Despite what conventional wisdom holds mainly due to corporate media, stock markets are highly regulated.
So these people weren't able to take advantage of the stock market. Foreign exchange of currencies (ForEx) would have been easier and better for these people, but there are only so many foreign currencies in use.
Mining precious metals and precious gems is a proven way to stake one's claim to wealth, but it is extremely hard work. It's also a young man's line of work.
So they turned to cryptocurrency to create their wealth. They reached the point where they can make investing their "day job," so they quit the 9-to-5 they had. As a bonus, they acquired !@#$-you money, and that's priceless.
Well if people can earn the same amount of money or more without working, they would probably pick it. At least in the low paying and labor intensive jobs, people might just prefer it.
That is understandable, why would I continue to resell, if my crypto portfolio out performs my current reselling business. It just makes sense.
