This is a terrific article discussing Bitcoin and being truly censorship resistant.
It talks about governments turning and banning Bitcoin, an assumption we should deem viable.
In reading it, I was thinking about Hive. This is something that I was saying yes, it could still go on.

Just reading another post from a bitcoin minimalist...boring.
Hive has gone through the fire with the event that led to its birth. When it comes to crypto, a lot of people are ignorant of what's going on in other projects, which explains their assumption about alts which I feel are the future of crypto and not bitcoin. Bitcoin will lead the way in terms of mass adoption but alts will slowly make their way into the wallets and hands of the masses.

Hive is really going to surprise a lot of people. I do not think that many who are involved realize what is going to take place. There is so much potential and a great deal of the development is going to pay off in a huge way.
It is just a matter of getting some of these things there.

Do you agree with me that Hive already accomplished a lot of that?
We have witnesses from all over the world so if one government went after Hive, there would still be people running nodes elsewhere. Also, it is relatively easy to spin up a Hive node, a lot easier than getting a bitcoin miner.

And Hive is still very young. Just imagine what it's going to be like when it gets really big! It might just become the ultimate censorship-resistant network

The new protocol that Spknetwork is developing could be huge. That could be the proverbial game changer since much of it is utilizing Hive as a basis.

I tend to believe that it will be an uphill battle. However I am not sure about them banning BTC though. It might represent crypto but I think it just doesn't threaten their control of money (fiat or CBDC).

He wasnt making the case they could, just that people should act like they could. To be censor resistant, there needs to be someone censoring was his point.

Yea but do you think censorship could happen if someone could get over 50% of the BTC available? I think it would be highly unlikely to happen though.

With Bitcoin, since it is Proof of Work, the token distribution is not as important as the mining. That is what runs the network unlike Hive where the token distribution impacts the top Witnesses.
