Trump’s $19.5B Iron Dome plan: Next-gen interceptors, Aegis, THAAD, space tech, lasers
The IRON DOME Act is designed to align with President Trump’s “Iron Dome for America” executive order.
In response to increasing concerns over global threats from global adversaries, U.S. Senators Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) have introduced a new bill to strengthen the nation’s missile defense capabilities.
The proposed legislation, the Increasing Response Options and Deterrence of Missile Engagements (IRON DOME) Act, seeks to overhaul and expand the U.S. missile defense system to improve security against potential nuclear missile threats.
The IRON DOME Act comes at a time when geopolitical tensions have escalated, particularly with the advancements in missile technology by nations such as China and Russia.
