Tuna Noodle Casserole

A classic comfort food! Here's a simple recipe for tuna noodle casserole that serves 4-6 people:

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12 oz) can of tuna in water, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup of noodles (such as macaroni or egg noodles)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of crushed crackers (such as Ritz or saltines)
Sort:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Stir in the flaked tuna, frozen peas and carrots, and milk. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for 2-3 minutes, until the peas and carrots are tender.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles, tuna mixture, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well combined.
  6. Transfer the noodle mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish and top with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the crushed crackers over the top of the casserole.
  8. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the casserole is hot and bubbly.
  9. Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle with parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!

You can customize this recipe to your taste by adding other ingredients, such as diced bell peppers or chopped hard-boiled eggs. You can also use different types of cheese or add some diced ham or bacon for extra flavor.
