You have to love these announcements.

The two companies are aiming to build a gigafactory in Europe by 2026 in a new 50-50 joint venture, with a potential annual capacity of up to 50 gigawatt hours. Volvo Cars will also source 15 GWh of batteries from Northvolt’s battery plant in Skellefteå, Sweden from 2024.

Tesla will have probably 8 giga factories by then and who knows how much they will be producing/consuming in GwH.

5 years? Look at where Tesla was 5 years ago in their deliveries.

Yeha, they are all playing for second place at this point. The problem is in this game, second place might not be good at all

If one company isn't enough, make sure to grab more. I think it will be a nightmare to discuss the business side of things.

I don't think I have heard of anyone making giga factories besides Tesla so I guess we will see the other car companies going the same route.
