I only signed up for discord because of steem/hive but I rarely use it because I hate it lol. It's been a big part of the overall community for a long time though. For example, most channels on there have a post promotion section 2 beg4π³οΈ
Well, to the rich if you ain't rich you're poor. But then again if you want to go that route, what makes a rich person not normal? Maybe you started off with a false premise? Normal is simply too broad to mean anything really.
I said normal instead of poor, because like you said, poor is pretty relative. Rich is too, but not to so much a degree. But I was going more for like everyday people vs snooty rich people and how language is used 2 distinguish the divide
Poor people aren't everyday people? When you pit normal against rich, that means it's rich against not rich and the poor are part of the not rich category, right? Normal and everyday people is simply way too broad for a point to be made.
Exactly, I agree and each category of everyday people have different means for decorating their abodes, so have to be broken up further into subcategories for there to be any real meaning.
It must be common where ppl arent aware of the implications their statements make. When you compare rich to anything, especially to normal I'm only able to address a specific subset of that, because we only have 240 characters it implies poor
Not necessarily implies poor. I would classify someone who doesn't have to work for a living as rich, whereas most people have to work but aren't necessarily poor.
That's what happened yesterday with the other misunderstanding you followed. His words implied something he said he didn't say, but did in a round about way. Then it simply became about being right to save face.
Funny how a limited character text based form of communication causes misunderstandings ππ. And I would say his statement was much harder to follow, it certainly made quite the leap from animal abuse to pet snakes π
In all though, I was just being playful in the spirit of engagement...
Which is what we all need, more engagement!
Yes, yes we do. That's why I end up trolling a bit, because the lack of engagement is lame.
πππ
It's funny how people dance around things on chain posting the most generic inane stuff, then go on Discord and complain about lack of engagement.
Do they? I'm not on Discord, but it does seem like an accurate statement to describe the typical human. The shallow do rule in threads

Oh I know, you must not have seen my thread about yesterday being my 7th Hive Birthday. I used to use discord for Hive

Yeah and I think he ended up seeing that and was simply embarrassed then tried to cover it up, rather than owning it.
I think there was a cultural context clue you and I weren't aware of so that's why it seemed so bizarre π
I did end up seeing that, but he didn't. I made a mention of that very thing in one of my final replies.
