This is an interesting discussion. I tend to think that people will still travel for leisure but that's partially because I've never experienced a fully immersive simulation so the "real thing" is waaaay better than anything I know so far.
Maybe, as technology progresses, the sensation of a metaverse travel will be very similar to that of the real world.

Haha. Right mate. Personally even I would prefer traveling physically but mostly for leisure.
