- Facebook and Twitter have collectively seen $51.2 billion erased from their market caps over the last two trading sessions as investors balk at their banning of President Trump.
- Facebook saw $47.6 billion erased from its public valuation, while Twitter's market cap dropped by $3.5 billion.
- Both companies announced last week they would permanently ban the president, saying keeping him on their platforms posed too large a risk of additional violence.
- The bans come as Trump faces blowback from the government and corporations for his role in inciting last week's violent riots at the Capitol.
I'm not a Trump fan, but I am a fan of Freedom and while I fully acknowledge private companies can make their own decisions about who can use their platform and for what reason, it was a huge wake up call for me about the role of Media, Big Teach and public opinion, combined with political power.
Also the media has been misleading about who was banned it wasn't just Trump, but rather millions of accounts some very large with large followings.
I don't think the financial pain will last for long as the main stockholders of Twitter isn't private citizens who will log into their Etrade account and dump Twitter. The stockholders are huge 401k Management companies with an abundance of political clout.
Who are the top shareholders of Twitter?
Who are the top shareholders of Facebook?
The same fund management companies also own the primary shares on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, and pretty much every American Media company.
In addition they own all the top banks
If you remove all political affiliation from the story, I think you can see why this is concerning. Perhaps you like their choice this time, but it's just too much power in a small billionaire groups' hands.
The political favors that Zuckerburg of Facebook and Jack of Twitter are earning right now will likely more than pay off.
My position on this has nothing to do with Politics I am neither a Democrat or a Republican and I neither Hate nor approve of Trump. I'm just hoping the average American starts to see how the Billionaire Class is manipulating the masses THROUGH our politics.
I think the less you care about Democrats vs. Republicans and the more you look at the system of Political Donations, Mainstream Media, Banking, Government Contracts and Tax laws the more concerning this seems.
If you would like to take this time to vent your frustrations or deep love of Trump in the comment section, feel free. It's not the point, and I don't care.
These billionaires are infiltrating every public source of information we have available to us and they did not stop at protecting their own platforms they went after (successfully) Parler and other platforms as well.

Crazy and it shows how unstable the system is. Some little event makes waves nobody would expect before.

Would Jacob rotchild who owns all those puppets and front companies even notice 50 billion?
Then the biggest question remains... Why is Dorsey pushing Bitcoin and why is BlackRock affirming BTC as an alternative to gold?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Because btc is a trojan crypto
You think?
From Satoshi's whitepaper to the BTC ATH in 2017, when the market cap reached 333 billion USD, were 3333 days. They love numbers...
The Sun was aligned with the Golden Gate of Osiris, the central black hole of the Milky Way. They love astrotheology...

Symbolism will be their downfall
Now the rotchild owned Greyscale fund is buying it up - I don't trust Bitcoin an inch and am into profiting from it in the short term but will be avoiding it long term
I fully agree - I've done very well on BTC by buying it and selling twice, but this idea that it's the way to global freedom so popular Hive is just tragic! Believers are like sheep...
I sold mine at 40k and now I hope it crashes. Then I'll buy in again. But I'm no fan of BTC!
what a pic, oh boy

cool picture :D

Unlikely...
And people say Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world!
People who lie for a living keep saying the rotchild's DON'T have over 500 trillion - so I guess they do indeed have more than that :)
They are good at covering it up though
Popcorn time!
And the 333rd upvote and 33rd comment for you. You gotta love it...

Nice!
I think, it's not just America, it happens in most of the countries. They only fund most of the money spent on elections.
Good Point!

They are out of date anyway, you post stuff there for free so they can sell anyone your data and spy on you via your phone. Hive and the blockchain is the future of social media.
I think both Hive and BTC are helpful tools in the battle for fiscal and informational freedom
I wonder how safe BTC is when institutional investors finally buy up the majority of it with fiat currencies.
they can and will regulate it.
That isn't the same as controlling it.

Yeah plus it will be like wack a mole with new crypto currencies coming out daily.
I agree with your point of view

They deserve all of that and more for their anti freedom of speech and fascist policies.

and now they are trying to save face by saying they are currently working on a decartelized system lol. Bunch of losers those sites where dying anyways. Bad UI updates, huge amount of ads, no more organic reach. Literally no reason to use them as a normal every day user anymore.

They own the world. That little ring of 'better than thous' runs the entire global economy and if you don't toe the line, you probably won't get very far. It isn't going to end well no matter which side you choose.
Frankly, they are all players on the same team and we are the opposition, in my opinion. It's unfortunate that we are so easily led as a whole. It makes their job of driving those wedges that much easier.

I agree with you
It is an interesting move tactically and the immediate result is fascinating!
I am with you on my hatred for that Jack-ass-o-lantern (pretty proud of myself for that one ;) but the far left annoys me almost as much. These companies are just making headlines for themselves as any news reinforces the current legitimacy of platforms who have had their day. Seems they are trying to take the sanctimonious high road for the greater good but risking alienating people/investors who identify as on the right side of a political spectrum we are being herded one way or the other.
We all know the evils of centralized media from the standpoint of those companies reaping the rewards from our content, building algorithms to feed us bullshit, and censorship. Seems like we have known this a long time and being early adopters of blockchain and decentralized platforms, it is nice to see others come to that conclusion with us.
The interesting thing about Blackrock Inc. Is they claim to have no political power but the Biden administration has appointed 5 of their executives to various roles in the Administration.
Republicans have done the same, it's about power not party.
Bingo
I made note of it last week. It could be just the market pullback. And you are right, most will not dump the stock over this.
However, what will hurt is if revenues and earnings go down. If they lost millions of users, that affects advertising. That is something that Wall Street funds do pay attention to.

I agree, if the usage stays low it might have a dent.
Hive and BTC fix this. :)

Hopefully the word of the new Leofinance app spread like wildfire once it is released. That will be amazing.
It could solve a lot of problems once it is released.

It's not even just about USA anymore. These companies have the entire world by the cojones. So much power in one place and the people being controlled literally keep them there because "it's just a tweet anyways"
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I'm glad you made this point. While we think of these as US companies they are Global and it matters, especially if they leverage US Tax laws to increase their powers worldwide.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
and there is a big chance that you will not on some of the next topics. and you will be gone.
Knowing is one thing and changing the facts/reality is another. Economic power equates political power.
The real problem is inequality. The gap between the haves and the have-nots is unimaginable long, and almost irredeemable. The only solution is the collaboration of the masses, but time and time again, we've seen how people are different between ethical lines.

I am seriously considering the idea of sell all my stocks and go full crypto.

Regardless of the Trump fiasco, these guys have had this coming for a long time. It is great that they are being reminded that they can actually even be replaced. Good to see their delusions of grandeur being challenged.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yep, I neither love or hate Trump, he's not worth it... the billionaire power bothers me though
He is almost out of the Forbes 400 and is now sitting at just over $2 billion. This status could soon be lost...
Oh I didn't mean him being a billionaire, I meant the power that the Big Tech Billionaires have.

Yeah it's getting quite sickening. Explains why Buffet bought in to tech stocks at the top...he knew what was coming.
Yeah. People are looking for a new place to post. Lots of new people joining Blurt. Https://Blurt.buzz
