Sorry to say this but I have some really BAT news for many of you!
If you have been earning BAT tokens using Brave, but do not have a custodial wallet linked to your Brave account, you are about to lose all your BAT tokens.
Brave is planning to stop using the VBAT (virtual BAT tokens), VBAT tokens are whatever you see in your browser.
These tokens are not part of the real supply. They only become part of it when your BAT tokens are sent to your Gemini or Uphold wallet at the end of the month.
Now Gemini only applies to the US and has its fair share of problems, but for users outside of the US Uphold was the place to go.
Although, according to many, it is not their favorite place. It is more like a necessary evil place. If you could go at all. Because Uphold has been listing and delisting many countries over the last couple of years.
If you are in a supported country as per the list below, great! You can KYC and keep earning BAT from Brave. If you are not, or not willing to KYC February is probably going to be the last month you will earn BAT for using the Brave Browser.

Now the thing is that the list of countries not supported is twice as long! The people living in those countries will not only no longer earn BAT, but also lose all the BAT they are holding in their Brave Browser. And that can be a lot I have seen people with close to 100 BAT in their browser wallet. All VBAT and all about to disappear.

How Can I Still Get Something For My BAT?
Well if you know me then you know these next weeks, probably till you get your last bit of BAT in early March, you can use my diabolical deal.
Almost a year ago I found out that many people can not monetize their BAT due to being in a region that was not supported by Uphold, or because they did not want to do the Uphold KYC.
So I came up with this little win/win idea.
Itยดs very simple if you have no Uphold wallet, you donยดt make a cent from the BAT in your Browser. But you can tip a Twitter account or YouTube channel. If you do that, 5% goes to Brave and 95% to the content creator that owns the channel,
Well, and as it happens I had a channel or two to be tipped.
Over the course of this year, I started with little 3-8 BAT deals, of which the person tipping me would get 66,6% in BCH from me. the other 33,3% would be 5% to Brave and 1% for fees. Leaving me with a nice little revenue as well, everybody wins.
Now that little business grew so fast. From 10 BAT in that first month to 260+BAT in December 2022 and all happy customers:

I will do a little campaign over the next 4 weeks or so to make sure everyone gets a fair chance to monetize the BAT they are still holding in their Brave Browser but after that, BATCoin Baby will hide in the shadows forever.

Youยดre in DE right, hence unless you registered with a non-German passport you should be in an unsupported country causing your BAT no longer to arrive in Uphold. It has been fun, and it made us a few BAT over the years, not sure if this will benefit the coin though !CTP

Have around 10 $ in uphold for months but to withdraw I would have to kyc again - although I already did when I started. Now I think this isnt worth all the effort and probably will just leave brave the moment I find a good alternative

I had high hopes about BAT (and Brave in general), but it's a pity that didn't grow enough fast and get more traction... I know that this isn't the end of the token, but still, it could perform much better...

Brave is not the most widely used browser, but it is still quite well-known as an alternative browser. If every fake site has a list of all the countries, Brave could have one too... non-professional if you ask me ...

Which website should I use to send to you? When I click the triangle, it shows ecency.
I feel like I linked a wallet to mine, but I can't quite remember what it was now. I don't have that much earned, so it probably isn't a huge deal. I use Brave both at home and at work, but I think I tied them both to the same account.
You probably used Gemini and if I remember correctly you can link up to 4 machines, but you need to manually set the number of ads per hours in the settings to make a nice bit of BAT !CTP
