Whenever they ask me what my favorite music is, I got into a dilemma, because I like many musical genres; although I could opt for classic salsa and some Venezuelan musical genres, such as the joropo chorus and the calypso.
I remember a movie that was called in Spanish "when destiny reaches us", in that movie people could choose the day of their death, listen, as a final whim, their favorite music. Using that cinematographic fiction, I think what I would choose to listen to "Life is Rose by Edith Piaf" I was very young when I heard it for the first time, I was in what was called a record store at the time, there they sold acetate records and cassette, I was going to buy one of the Beatles, it was normal for them to try the records and cassettes when they were sold, when they played Edith Piaf, I was hypnotized, it was love at first sight that lasts until the present.
I didn't even know the lyrics, but it was really not necessary, it is the beautiful energy that flows from her voice that managed to captivate me.
When the most beautiful voices on our planet are launched into outer space, to serve as a message to those possible extraterrestrials, one of them must be the voice of this little giant of the song.

I love this song by Piaf. I had heard it on the radio and someplace else, but I could not tell who she was or cared much about it. It was not until recently, when the movie came out, that I realized how big a figure Piaf was, and how tragic her story was too.

La vie en rose is a very nice song, a classic from 1945. It's one of my favourite songs as it's passionate and is about living an enlightened colourful life. Certainly a good choice to drop here.
