RE: Weekend-engagement week 18: Your music groove

Like cancer, Mental Illness is something a lot of people are faced with and have to manage day in and day out. It has the power to alter peoples lives and tear a family apart. Mental Illness can be tragic for those close to the person with the disease. I've known, worked with, work around and have lived with people suffering from this terrible illness. It really does deserve some attention.

For that reason, I chose the song below by Larkin Poe, "Mad As A Hatter". Not only is it catch and well delivered, it has a message behind it. It hits close to home for these two girls, when a family member suffers from Dementia. It's scary, because they have a good chance of inheriting the same Disease.

I won't ramble about it here, but be patient, forgiving, and do a little research on mental illness before passing judgements about the disease. Knowledge is power!

Enjoy the song.. It really is quite catchy and the backdrop is neat too. I had the chance to see them live several years ago, but something else came up and I was unable too. Life! Always gets in my way :-/

This is a pretty good track, and a good message too.

My father passed away two months ago - He had dementia and didn't know who I was. It's a pretty tragic illness and hard on those around one who suffers from it. Thanks for dropping this song. Nice voices!

A great song, a subject that even in this day and age seems to still be taboo and forbidden to talk about. They are the forgotten people, the ones behind closed and locked doors, who knows one day as a society we may grow up.
