Thanks for the topic man, and a huge thanks to all of the sponsors! These topics each week are really great and ones we all appreciate.
So let me get this straight, you want me to write a formal post in the Hive Gaming community with the tags in Latin, header in Gaelick then the footer in Mandarin to enter the contest, right? Or do you want me to like, reblog and then post on Twitter my entry, to be picked up by the local town crier and then broadcasted to you via radio waves? Lol I know some people don't read the rules for these, I've seen a few posts and I just sigh, but what can ya do?
I am totally out of the loop of the news on this type of stuff lately, since I no longer drive into work and listen to the radio. I typically hear this stuff on the radio but not anymore lol. Sucks that he died, I wasn't really into Van Halen but I could appreciate their music for sure. They had some good songs, though I don't know them by name, I know them by sound. A lot of people know their sound, so I guess that's one of the things they go for as artists, right?
My choices for this week.. hmm I have so many songs I love for different reasons. Let's start it off with one of my absolute favorites. He didn't write the song (if I remember correctly, it was U2) but I think having him sing it was utterly perfect, in my opinion. It's a very somber song, one I kind of think of the early days of my relationship with my wife. I made some mistakes, but don't we all? That's what I tell myself at least lol big thing is to learn from them as best we can.
Johnny Cash - The Wanderer
This one was a bit of a recent find in the past few months but only because the album version with the extended guitar was new to me! The radio version is so much shorter and I've known about that one for years. I love the chill vibe of the bass guitar, and the different instruments that they have going on at once. I don't hear piano used too often in rock-type music so that was cool! I kind of like the sound of his voice, strangely enough. It's surely heavily edited but it's got an interesting sound to it.
Death Cab for Cutie - I Will Possess Your Heart
Now to make it just 3 selections, let's round it out with one of my favorite songs from old Dean. This one just has such a fun, upbeat vibe to it and flows nicely. I'm shocked that it's not one of his more famous songs but people like what they like, I suppose. I am always happy when I'm in my car, listening to my iPod and things one pops on!
Dean Martin - On an Evening in Roma
Even though I had the chance to listen to country music since I was little, mainly through movies, I did not know much about Cash until I watched the biopic Walk the Line and I had many years prior watched the series the Dukes of Hazzard, but never paid much attention to who was behind the soundtrack. I like some of his songs (most songs in the genre are kind of depressing for me). I think he has quite a few memorable songs, like Wayfaring Stranger and Walk the Line.
Ah those are some lovely memories there, I don’t think johnny himself could have picked a better actor than Joaquin Phoenix!
I don’t think I’ve heard the first song you mentioned, I will have to correct that! Some of my other favorites of his are Boy Named Sue and Tennessee Flat Top Box. He’s got great range!

I'm giving this comment an upvote because you watched Dukes of Hazzard, one of my all time favourite shows when I was a kid. :)
Hahaha! It was too one of my favorites. Of course, I did not know anything about the American Civil War, General Lee or the Confederate Flag. It was good that I didn't; that might have predisposed me for the show.
It was fun because in the spanish translation they did a great effort to replicate southern/texan accent, which was great years later when I started learning English. I never perceived the southern accent as a linguistic/phonetic challenge, probably thanks to that show.
It would have been cool if you learned to speak English from the show...Now that would have made for some interesting dialogues. :)
🤣🤣
Ah yes, a bit of Johnny Cash huh? I like country music, more the modern stuff, but can listen to some Cash now and then - One of the pioneers. Nice choice.
Death can for cutie has been mentioned before and is now firmly on my list of check this our G-dog artists which I am doing on Sunday...And Deam Martin, smooth mofo that he was.
Nice choices bro, diverse, which is how I would classify my own music tastes, and legit. Thanks for joining in, and following the rules, although did you see the one about hopping on one leg whilst you were posting? Probably not. :)

I swear I was hopping on one leg during the selection!
It’s nice having diverse music choices, you can be in lots of different moods and have music to fit each mood or situation. I’ve got the diversity of music palette like a fine wine connoisseur lol. Minus the pretentious nature of course.
Hope your weekend has been good, the music selections I was listening to here was awesome!
Good man, read the instructions to a tee. Nice work. There surely has been some great selections and after a little bit of work around the house today I'll be checking some more out. I'm looking forward to it.

tokens.I loved that Death Cab song, I bookmarked them so I can go and listen to more, I am on day two of commenting so I may have already mentioned that somewhere. It gets so easy to get lost in these long comment threads, but there has been so many memories and so much new and old music to listen to.
That’s great! They are a really interesting band, I like their unique sound. They have some good songs on their albums, another one that comes to mind is Soul Meets Body. I have a bunch more in my iPod in my car but I can’t remember the names. They’ve got over 100 songs I think, so there is a lot to choose from!
I’ve definitely gotten a lot of cool songs to listen to this weekend!
It has been a nice post to comment surf and read through. So much music, and so little time.
