The first river you paddles runs through the rest of your life.
Hello weekenders!
I've been thinking what's my ideal weekend now since it did changed a lot because of what's happening around us but it only me led to the weekends that I used to have.
Let's go back three years ago and forget about what's happening now and let me get lost to the weekend that I used to know.
My weekend usually starts Friday night, I and my friends usually meet in
our favorite restaurant in BGC, have dinner there before we hit the road.
This time we are going to spend our weekend in Cagayan De Oro(CDO). Our travel time from Manila to Cagayan is about 1-hour plane ride and our flight schedule is at 3am arriving CDO at 4am in the morning. Still have time to check in at the hotel, enjoy the sunrice and have a lil rest before we hit the road to go where we are going to spend our day.
We arrived at the jump point at about 9am. Weather is good, mister sun is flexing his hotness and the guides are already waiting for us to do some orientation.
Distribute all the gears that we are going to need, prepare ourselves before they start the orientation. Orientation is a must no matter how many times you've already done this.
After the orientation, they divide us into groups and then we're off to the waters.
Yes, we are going to do white water rafting. I and my friends love the thrill of being in the waters. We love the adrenaline rush that this activity gives. We are going to enjoy and conquer at least 14 rapids, of course, every rapids interval is about ten to fifteen minutes will allow you to maximize your time on the river.
Being in the water gives us so much fun. It feels like we are swept away to another world whenever we pass the rapids. The water is iced cold but because of the adrenaline rush that you are feeling you'll not mind it.
We've even experienced our raft turn upside down but that didn't scare us at all. After we are all back in the raft everyone is getting impatient to meet the next rapids.
Going through a rapid felt similar to a water ride in a theme park. Your raft will be rocked and bounced but no matter how rocked it is you have to continue paddling. Water splashing from different sides will make laugh, you'll even yell at times. And you'll just realize that the fear that you had before the start of the ride has turned to pure excitement.
After we had the water rafting we went back to our hotel and had a good meal. Roam around the area and visit some tourists spot that is really worth visiting.
And this is my ideal weekend. A weekend that is full of fun, excitement, thrill, and an action-packed adventure.
And this is my entry to the #idealweekend challenge that the weekend community runs this week, and thank you @galenkp for always giving us a nice prompt that we can't resist joining.

I've not done it to be honest but would like to give it a try. And you're welcome for the curation, it was a good post. Thanks for being involved with my community. 😊
try it sometime... you'll never regret it...there's a river rafting and tubing in Perth.. just sad I wasn't able to try it when I was there. Loved your community actually... all articles are mood lifter :)
I'm not too far from Perth, (Adelaide)...Ok, it's thousands of kilometres. There's a few places in Australia where one can do it actually and I'll be at one of those locations (Cairns, QLD) in April so...Maybe then.
i'm getting excited for you LOL. have a good day Galen! and will wait for your post about it in April haha
OMG can I join, sis? hehe

Oh sis, what an amazing adventure! I would love to do it someday. But it would have to be early so as not to run the risk of ending up with a broken bone. 😆
hahaha would you believe sis my mom and her friends did that when their late 60s with me hahaha but after that.. told them they'll not join me again on that activity lol
