RE: Weekend-engagement week 18: Your music groove

in Weekend Experiences4 years ago

This is a nice song, I've always liked it; Sheryl Crow has a pretty nice voice, quite powerful against Sting's more mild singing voice. Nice lyrics too. Music has a habit of reaching inside and twisting sometimes and this could certainly be put into that classification.

This is a great choice and song to drop...Thank you.

There's a lot of music in the comment thread and I'm planning of spending a little time on Sunday going through and taking a listen, exploring the artists, as I think I'll add some to my Spotify playlists. I'm glad I chose this topic this week, I figured it would bring me some new musical options, and it has.

Music is SUCH a powerful force and I always love seeing what people listen to - it tells you a lot about them too, much like their book collection (or lack thereof) does.

I'm planning to have a doodle through here later evening and tomorrow as my VP recovers... it's always NICE to find some new music. Living under a rock here in Asia one tends to be out of the mainstream 'thng' and more likely to be listening to bamboo flute, handpans or something "worldmusic". LOL. I'm going to this tomorrow afternoon - if the musicians are OK with it, I will try to do a little 3speak video:

You're right about the what they listen to and read thing. However, my musical tastes are so varied it wold be difficult to get much on a read on who I might be from what I listen to. You mention world music though...When we travel we always make a post of listening to the music from the area/location - Makes us feel more local. We tend to come back with a few nice selections and continue to listen to them...Sort of keeps the holiday vibe rolling.
